Racing

Well I'm getting close to driving my jeep after I put new lifters in it.
Fired it up today and the motor isn't idling at all (maybe for a few seconds), as a matter of fact its racing.
I checked all the vacuum lines.
All connectors.

Any ideas guys?

Have you messed with the Camshaft Position Sensor a.k.a. OPDA a.k.a. "distributor"?

Did you reuse the intake/exhaust manifold gasket? If so, get a new one, if not did you follow the bolt tightening sequence for the intake and exhaust manifolds?

I ask because if a lifter is bad, there's a chance the camshaft is bad. To replace the camshaft, the CPS has to be removed. If it is altered, it needs reset and can cause you to have high idle.

There is method to my madness.
