Nice. You'll like them. I recommend led blinker bulbs for them as well. I always hated the look of amber in the back so I went with red but you could do amber LED's if you liked it. LED's FTW.

Great build, spent the last couple days checking the whole thread out. I will HOPEFULLY be getting a WJ within the next two months and was thinking white before I saw this thread, but now I think I have to get white! haha, awesome WJ man, I'm staying tune for sure.

Oh and I REALLY want to try and make it to MOAB for EJS. Those vids looked like so much fun. Maybe you will have another white warrior on the trails with you haha.

EJS is fun, but I prefer Grand Slam West in June because you get to wheel with large groups of grand cherokee's.

thanks for the advice on driveshafts. i moved over here cause i have a question about your rear driveshaft. do you know where it came from? i assume you still have the stock slip yoke with a dble cardan on it? tom woods has a thin walled shaft they sell to counteract some of the extra weight from the dble cardan, but its pricey. im wondering if you have this one or something else. if you think about it and have a picture id love to see it, to see the tube diameter. no big deal, but thanks but.

it pains me to pay 500+ for each driveshaft but it looks like thats what im gonna have to do.

The shaft was built by Six States...and yes it still has the slip yoke. I will snap a pic tonight for you. What is the matter with your current shafts, why the need for new ones?

BTW - I had Slyco (a local driveshaft shop) rebuild my front one just before Easter Jeep Safari this year. The center joint and parts in the cardan were toast. Best $205 I have spent on the Jeep. It is much smoother now. Here is a pic of the front shaft I am running:

i was running the same front shaft but had to have my pinion angled up quite far to point the single u joint end at the transfer case. since going to 6in clayton springs ive removed the front shaft, and adjusted my caster angle back to stock-like. my jeep drives better than it has in years and with the front shaft with 2 cvs(4 u joints) i should be able to retain this with no vibes. my main concern is the rear vibes ive started to get. currently i have the stock shaft in rear. im about to put in my 242hd with longer tailcone is going to make the angle even worse. i called tom woods to order a new dble cardan cv slip yoke rear shaft and they tried to convince me out of it and into a whole SYE kit plus new shaft. dont want to crack open a perfectly good 242hd at this time, or else i would of bought a 231 or something. thanks for the pic. i think im going to look for the cv slip yoke rear shaft elsewhere or see if they'll make it for me anyway. thanks bud

The LED tail lights came today. Finally, no more intermittent tail light issues.

I also cut and soldered connections onto my LED light strips. I installed one next to each slider, one along the back side of the radiator support, and one along the rear tank skid. They give enough light that they will work well when night wheeling, but are not overly bright.

Here is a pic of the strip along one slider:

Here are the LED tail lights:

The old vs the new:

They look even better in person. I was really impressed with the look when they showed up. I am glad I bought them, I was considering factory replacements.

Here is a quick low res video of the light operation. It doesn't capture them very well, these lights look really great. Now I need an LED 3rd brake light.
