i finally decided to buy a gasket and put my aluminum valve cover on. while i was at it i decided to remove the a/c compressor and all the other a/c parts since it hasn't worked in years and put on a smaller belt to gain a little hp.

ok so i got on ebay and did a little digging and found a set of ford factory 4.10's for my 8.8 along with a factory locker.

so i'm one step closer on my parts list. now all i should have left is a bracket kit from IRO and brake lines and brake pads for the 8.8

time for an update i guess. me and my g/f of 2 years have finally decided to get a house together so i've been trying my best to save money for a house to rent. so that means less money i can spend on the heep. so my 8.8 and hp30 swap are put on hold for now, i had decided to just buy another stock d35 and throw back in the zj for now.

so today i decided to pull the diff cover and just see what blew apart inside there. turns out it was only the spider gears to my disbelief. by the sound of it when it happened i just knew it had to be the pinion but i was wrong. so now i just need to make a trip to my local JY and pull a set of spiders and i'll at least have her going good enough to wheel a few times this year.

time for a lil update. after my g/f...let me update that too. after my fiance having to blow her entire savings on student loans this semester it gave me the excuse to blow some of my savings on the jeep lol.

and this also happened yesterday...

so i'm back to collecting parts for my 8.8 and hp30 swap with 4.10's
and this was next on the list...

now i just need to find a cheap set of 35" swampers!!

i'll post one successful vid just for fun(excuse my fiance's shaky video taping lol)

well, alot has happened since my last update. i got my bracket and truss kit from ups.

still waiting on time and money before i can start putting it all together.

in the mean time, i grabbed another set of spider gears from the JY and had a friend lincoln lock it this time. and well needless to say from the pic, he did a good job welding them up lol

broke the axle on a new hill

and we used a little redneck innovation to get it home

more vidyuhs!

i normally wouldn't have let out of the gas as early as i did on this hill, but there's a small pond at the top and i didn't want to wind up in it lol

and there was a small stump hitting my passenger front tire in this vid that messed me up. we cut off the video because my battery terminal came loose and had to put it back on and forgot to finish taping it

so last week, i decided it was time to go back to work on my tube doors. and it was just in time for the insane heat wave that's hitting us here in Louisville.

so if you guys remember earlier in the thread i decided that i liked my design on the rear doors better. so i wound up junking the front doors and building new ones to match the rears. i also changed the latch design to my original plans but just ran out of money and time last summer. i also ordered some gussets from artec industries with my 8.8 bracket and truss kit for about $1.49 a piece and welded those on. then i sprayed them with a coat of truck bed liner and a few coats of white. i really dig the way these things look now. i love driving it around with these on, i've received all kinds of compliments from ppl at gas stations and parking lots who don't even own a jeep.

as you can tell in this last pic, i also finished breaking yet another header panel and marker light on some tree limbs my last time out wheeling. so i've decided i'm done with the stock zj headlight/marker light/header panel situation. I'm going to add my own custom lights for head lights similar to what i've seen a few ppl do here on JF and mallcrawlin
