nice!! how difficult would you say the WJ brake knuckle and brake swap is? There are a couple WJs at my local JY and I might give this a try.

it's not too bad it just takes some time and patience. the worst part was drilling out the rotors, you have to take your time and be really precise with your marks and drilling. i messed one up in the process and had to grab another one lol. it's actually easier if you take an old screwdriver and hammer and tap a starting point where u want to drill so that your bit doesn't move on u when u start drilling. i used a 1/2" drill bit and then used a step bit to get them to the right size since i didn't have a drill bit any bigger than 1/2". making the flange spacers took a little time but wasn't hard, u could just buy those depending on preference. i just didn't find it reasonable to spend $40 on those things. everything else is just pretty much nuts and bolts. i also used the step bit to drill out the top of the driver side knuckle so i could go over the knuckle.

well i finally got to do some wheelin this weekend. loaded up and went out to the dirty turtle in bedford,ky yesterday.

sittin on the trailer still clean

then we played and got it a little dirty. also we've been having temperatures in the triple digits here lately so because of heat we decided to take the doors off for the day

then about halfway threw the day i broke the rear end on a big rocky hill. so now i guess you guys get to see me do an 8.8 swap lol. here's 2 right before we loaded it up

well i got the front ones mostly finished, still got a few things i want to do to them like grind the edges on the brackets that bolt the hinges to the jeep and cut the extra tubing off the piece that's nearly touching the rocker.

i've also thought of later adding some small marine speakers somewhere on them so i could have a little music.

tell me what you guys think so far...and please don't hate too bad on my crappy welding ability, i'm pretty inexperienced with a mig(and a crappy mig at that, it fell off a truck doing 80mph so it's a turd)

i know probably not the best locking mechanism but it was simple and easy to build.

o yea i forgot i was also gonna post this as well. while wheelin without the doors this past weekend me and my buddies thought of several advantages to wheelin with no doors.

1. easier to see/choose your line
2. less weight
3. don't have to worry about catching your mirrors on anything
4. much cooler on the driver and passengers in extreme heat

not sure yet. i have 3.55's now so if it has the same i'll leave it alone for the time being but i want to re-gear anyway so if it has 3.73's or 4.10's then i'll swap the front over

did some more work on the tube doors today. the fronts are pretty much finished except for adding some gussets in the corners later on. i decided to go with white instead of black, i thought it kinda matched the jeep better. i've already driven it a few times with just the fronts done and it gets quite a reaction from all the other drivers on the road lol
