On and even more recent note, I wanted a steering box brace. I had seem them ripped off on the trail, and with turning 37's all day I did not want to risk it. So I bought a nice brace that FortCollinsZJ here on the boards made for me Thanks again. Notice the junkyard steering box, I just put that in two weeks ago haha

At IRO we recently bought a brand new Brake line machine. We are now making our own stainless braided lines, DOT Approved. I still had extended rubber hose for my rear brake line from the 8.8 swap, so I decided to make my own custom length rear stainless brake line. We had the perfect fitting for my 8.8 pumpkin, it mounted up perfect and the pedal pressure feels great still. The best part is they are DOT approved so they are street legal!

Winter

Darnit I forgot about the heater core!!!

So after the major labor intensive engine swap, I noticed the heat was suffering still with new coolant and every now and then you could smell coolant.

So I replaced the heater core after testing the input and output hose temps.

The Jeep is not currently under surgery, but will be soon here. This is how it sits now

I have my 4.88 gears and HP30 sitting at Iron Rock, as well as my Aussie Locker for the 8.8 rear end. I plan on getting those in within the next month, and building the new winch bumper aswell.

And these pictures taken today....

So on a side note, I am excited because the memorial weekend trip of last year in Dresser, WI will be totally different this year. Because Last year I had the 4.0, alll short arms, 35's, and open carriers. Exactly a year later I have front and rear long arms, HP30, locked rear, 37's, and a V8, OTK, skids.... The funny thing is it will look pretty much the same but a little taller, but it will perform that much better

So how did the 4.0 do with 35's and stock gearing? I am a little iffy on just 33's.. did you ever break any axle shafts?

35's and the 4.0 = slow, gutless with 3.73's. I have never broke any axle shafts.

You painted your steering box brace the same color that I painted my own! Nice!

I'm looking forward to seeing the bumper Pat.

Depends on how many you want and how much you are willing to pay. But yes, I can.

Hahah sweet man!

I am taking the HP30 to school tomorrow to start putting the 4.88's in, and I hope to gear the 8.8 up and put the aussie in on wednesday.
