Update, before work on this lovely easter morning I went down to the laser cutter and picked up my bumper parts.
lol i figured it involved jumping. with my height i still struggle sometimes getting into my buddies 4" lifted TJ on 33s. but i am recovering from hip surgery so i use that as an excuse hahaha

No way me too! What kind of hip surgery did you have?

$128.xx for everything. I had to dimension and re-arrange the original file though so it was not as easy as just submitting the original downloaded file.

just go to yellow pages and search for cnc, waterjetting, laser cutting, plasma cutting, as long as its on a cnc its going to be wayy more acurate than doing it by hand and a lot faster. out of the three options, plasma is the least smooth, then laser, and waterjet being the best. Even at that, they all far exceed doing it by hand, and we are not talking about really tight tolerances so its okay.

Here is more on the slider mounting style.





So to pick up where I left off. After wheeling in Dresser, WI I decided I wanted more flex. So I did the IRO Front Long Arm upgrade, for $599.99 it seemed pretty logical, get some new arms and a HD Crossmember, and I would be set for a while. The addition of the front LA's was an amazing difference. On the road most bumps you feel are absorbed by the front end, so if you are choosing the front or rear, do the front. Its cheaper, easier to install, and makes the biggest difference. It has the floating on a cloud effect now instead of the driving over constant speedbumps.

At the same time I put the long arms on, there was another problem. I needed longer shocks to get the most out of my down travel, I also needed extended brake lines, stock ones would not cut it anymore.

Front Subframe mounting. (Imagine the skidplate and V8 not in yet lol)

Before the next trip came (Apple Valley Farms) I wanted to have some sort of steering. I did not like how I could kick my 4.0 steering and the tierod would just wobble. Although I could have easily just bought the IRO HD Tie-rod for less than $70, I chose to do the entire OTK Steering system because I liked the idea of having a wheel to wheel tie rod, and a separate drag link. I added a brand new Steering stabilizer aswell. I then converted the IRO HD front Adj trackbar I had to a Double shear. I say converted because I had the tie-rod end style one. IRO makes a conversion that uses the same M22 left hand threads, so you keep the trackbar, and just pay for a new bracket, male TB end, and bushings.

I had a custom driveshaft made for it due to the stock one not being long enough. The CV front shaft was roached, so I got a new one made, and put a D30 ujoint yoke on there as opposed to the CV yoke.

I quickly noticed how bad a roached 249 was with the 35's. I went to the junkyard and picked up a 242 out of a 1996 Laredo. Direct bolt up I replaced both the trans output seal, and the tcase input seal at the same time.

We then wheeled in Apple Valley Farms over in WI, and had a blast. The terrain was pretty much all hill climbs and hill downs with big rocks and logs in your way, in other words hit it hard, hit it fast, and dont let off the gas until you reach the top.

Before the end of the summer trip which was up in Gilbert, MN (Iron Rock Off Road hosted a customer appreciation event) I wanted to go all out, I needed rear long arms.

I once again, did the long arm upgrade but for the rear. For $999 it seems a bit expensive, but there are 4 new LA's, and one BA subframe. At the same time I installed new shocks for the rear to allow the suspension to show it all off.
