One of the heims in my steering finally started getting sloppy, so I replaced all 4 Heims with Brand new ones, and upgraded to 5/8" while I was at it. No pictures now, but its true. I also replaced the drag link with the New and improved IRO drag link, with the IRO 7/8" Double adjuster at the top. Much stronger than the seemingly bulletproof previous one.

Also noticed a power steering leak today... coming right out of the pitman seal on the steering box. Gushing out. Time for a new box.... or a hydro assist setup?!....

I am almost 100% sure it came out after you got yours installed Matt. We did not have problems with the other double adjusters breaking, It was time to replace the QA1 part with an IRO Part, bigger and better. You probably have a silver double adjuster that is basically a giant 3d hexagon with threads?

I will post pics later tonight.

What? The bumper? Yes.

Picked up a reman steering gearbox today for it, lifetime warranty. Also picked up a NAPA brand idler pulley, the autozone one I bought a month ago I have warrantied 3 times because they keep starting to squeek. We will see if this fixes it.

If 94-00 Ram steering boxes work, PSC makes heavy duty ones.

how much did that steering box run ya Pat? I plan on replacing mine soon too... i have a bit of a leak that i noticed coming out of mine ... thinking it might be contributing to my huge dead spot in my steering

$154 out the door, but that was with a $15 core and tax. I think it was like $129.99, plus its lifetime warrantied

Got the box in last night, as well as the idler pulley. Yet, it still squeeks. I have no clue whats wrong. 4 brand new pulleys, obviously something is wrong.

Do you have a mechanic's stethescope? Are you sure it's the idler pulley each time? I would listen to each of the pulleys and make sure the noise isn't being thrown from another pulley.

I used to have a Ram with a 5.2 and a belt squeek. Changed everything i could think of and the squeek never went away. Had a friend rev it up one day while i was looking at the pulleys and the crank would actually move in and out. If you shut it off and took a pry bar you could move the crank back and fourth in the block. I sold the truck like that but i assume it was a thrust washer for the crank that went bad.

I do, its all coming from that pulley. I can spray it with lube, and it goes away temporarily.
