Self tappers, don't be afraid to drill holes, the better the ground, better reception. The tail lights are held on with screws in plastic nutserts.

Thanks jamie! Can't wait

Hahahaha brian, dont be jealous!

I am Happy for you bud. You have come along way and its nice to see you are building up a 5.9. I have built mine for all go and not for show. I love having the power of the 5.9 re geared and Locked. I also see you have come across a few of the 5.9 issues as I have. I look forward to your build. good luck

Thanks! Yeah I think I have come a long way too, I love looking back on my threads asking about how you do a lift... or whats involved in an axle swap. I love the 5.9 too, it is a noticable difference over the 5.2, not HUGE, but noticable. Thanks, It should be a fun build. Definately some more performance mods coming soon! I just have to sell my other Jeep first, which btw is forsale.

Thanks! Yeah, let me tell you how fun it is to fix.... Not very.
haha the hinge is ~$50 from the dealer IIRC, and you have to grind off the old one, and reweld a new one in its place. As for the sheet metal ripping, that will be easy peasy lemon squeezy.. I will just bend it back, weld it, grind it, cut where necessary, and repaint. Then Wala, brand new door! (kind of)

Grant, Thanks a ton for the sweet pictures! I love that one of the niner chillin like a villan... Thanks again for swapping the tires for me, I owe you... (three duck heads LOL)

SWEET PICTURES! LOVE THEM. umm, 3" exhaust will be sometime in the next couple months I assume. In reality, I would like to sell my other Jeep before spending much more on this one.

youre lucky you caught that sheet metal problem on the latch before it got worse. The guy who owned my jeep before me ended up completely ripping the latch out, so i had to fab up a plate to reattatch the latch.

BTW How do you like the new coolant temp sensors? I read through the thread a couple of days ago and saw that, so i went and got some, just waiting for some time off work to put them in. My jeep has been telling me mine are bad for over a year, and were acting up all summer.... And i hate reading your duilds cuz your niner is so sexy. I love the deep slate. One day my platinum niner will be as nice as yours.

Hah yeah it seems like the hinge was fine when I bought it? Then one day, it just went out. Very weird, I am nice to my doors too. I dont even hang on them or anything.

The coolant temp sensors seem to be working, however it seems like my fan is running an awful lot. I guess Its just trying to keep it at that lower temperature. I might disconnect the top hose one to see how that effects it, It cant be good to run the fan that much.

Got my mopar decal on! The Iron Rock one went on right after this, have yet to get a picture of it.

A picture of some of the suspension droop when on a hoist.

New wheel bearing AGAIN in the front passenger position.. The Timken "Good" one went out twice in 13 months. Yes, my axle is straight. Yes, it is gussetted in the tubes and the C's are straight. And yes, I torqued it to spec... they just dont last long with offset wheels i guess?

Door off for repair

This is how I opted to do it, its hard to get a cutting wheel in there and get the whole hinge off in one cut, so I did it in a few cuts.

Old bracket off!

It is important to sand off the paint that comes on the new bracket where you will be welding to. I used a wire wheel on an angle grinder for this.

Tack the new bracket on, I like to refrain from grinding all of the old bracket off, because it helps a ton if you can still see where the old bracket was.

Test fit it, and if all works well, WELD IT UP WELDER!!!

....then primer and paint it. I was not too worried about paint matching because it goes virtually unseen anyway.
