I like the idea of putting the holes for the pinch seem directly in the rectangular tube, instead of adding another strip of metal for the pinch seem. less welding and drilling, plus it tucks it up a little better(and a little stronger). I'm glad I didn't weld that piece on yet.

...... hmmm ...... You got me thinking now. The Jeep's color scheme seems to be black/dark metallic grey.

Your not working on a jeep if you don't atleast smash one finger.

Compressor Mounted, not wired in quite yet.

The door hinge decided to go out, and with that the door hits really hard due to the misalignment, actually sheared the sheet metal. I am going to order that new hinge and weld it on soon, then repair the cracking.

Drop bumper, custom plates.

C Gussets from IRO, ALmost alloy tabs welded over Spicer 760's.

CB Mount

A few more goodies I fixed this weekend aswell, as mentioned earlier I had a faulty coolant temp sensor in the upper radiator hose. Funny enough, this sensor is not available through any parts stores, or any dealer in the country. The parts guy at the dealer suggested "go to a junkyard, find a 5.9 grand, and take one off of that".... reallly? How many do you find in the junkyard?

So with doing some research I found a common GM Coolant temp sensor works, same threads, same plugs, but instead of commanding the fan on at 210 deg. it comes on at 200. So with replacing BOTH sensors (they are the same sensor, upper and lower rad hoses), I also put in a failsafe 180* T-Stat. 180* is the temp it opens up at, and the failsafe is a design so that if it fails, it fails open vs. closed. This prevents overheating if it fails. The feature costs a little bit extra, but it is worth it.

By putting in the cooler T-stat, the engine runs cooler all the time. For those of you not familiar with computer systems on cars, the computer is commanded to lengthen the time of injector pulses (dump more fuel) for cooler operating conditions. Inputs for this are the ECT and IAT aka engine coolant temp and intake air temp.

OEM vs new, OEM does not have the nipple.

And of course with all of this added horsepower I decided to take out the stock airbox and put in a new air filter setup. Its simply a reuseable cone filter from the parts store, and pvc piping to connect it to the stock hose. I will make a support for it, and possibly a "heat shield" for it in the future.

Notice with the addition of the cone filter, you eliminate the breather tube. To solve that problem I picked up an aftermarket breather from the parts store (1" neck) to pop into the factory breather grommet.
