Finally got around to fixing the exhaust!

I also noticed that my gas tank in the rear has a burn mark on the plastic tank. I hope it holds up and that the pipe doesn't expand that far back. The ZJ exhausts are known to move backward about an inch when they are at full operating temperature.

Not relevant to my build, please take a minute to sign this whitehouse petition to stop the expansion of 29 palms marine base and save the public land use for recreational activities as well as our only place to run King of the Hammers, KOH in Johnson Valley

If you are not familiar with king of the hammers, do a search on youtube. Crazy stuff, it only takes a minute and we have 16,000 signatures to go! I hope to be in this one day.

Don't forget to share this!

The niner's been running a little warm lately, so I decided to pull out the fan and check out the radiator fins. You can see they were pretty dirty!

All cleaned out. I rinsed the fins out with a garden hose from the front and back, and then sprayed some degreaser/soap, let it sit, and washed it all off again.

I had been told by a few people that my passenger rear tire had a wobble to it. Having the 8.8 in the rear end, I knew from my previous experience at IRO that the passenger side shafts of these bend from time to time in this manner. They bend in such a way where the tire wobbles. You really can't feel it in the jeep, but it is noticeable if you tilt your mirrors down and watch it as you go down the road. I didn't want to spend the money on a brand new shaft if I wasn't sure it would fix it, especially since I would have to tear apart the locker which can be kinda finicky.

So, here's how I tested it using a dial indicator. This setup checks the run-out. I checked both sides, the drivers side shaft had about 5 thousandths, while the passenger side had about 25.... Check it out, pretty entertaining to watch the gauge!

Reassembling the differential/locker

All back together

The diff cover is cleaned, and a thin layer of silicon is applied to both the cover and the cleaned housing.

I've been driving on it for a few days now and there's no more wobbling. Time to get some tires soon now that that's fixed.
