Yeah, but that's a good thing. If it were an easy fit, hence, sloppy, then it would be junk. This way it wont keep coming out like my stock rubber one.

Well, the hydro assist is working great! No more leaks ever since I replaced that line. I will get a video of it sometime.

On the other hand, I finished up my rear coil mounts!

The spring will sit on there, and then the top piece on each of them will clamp down on the bottom end of the coils to hold them in place. I'm hoping to get these in place on Sunday.

My smittybilt xrc8 winch plug broke off, so I just ordered a new one. ... $12 shipped for it.

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SMT-97281-58/

I also found out where some of my speaker rattling is coming from, I have been getting the sound of loose bolts/plastic when there is a song with significant bass in it. Turns out the passenger rear door speaker itself is rattling. So I need to replace that, and when I was going around listening to the speakers I noticed that my drivers front door one isn't even making sound! well darnit anywho.... time to look for speakers... and new tires.....Just empty every pocket.

Time to get started on the new rear coil mounts!

Springs out, shocks out...

Coil buckets out... hhaha

I then ground down the surface, and started putting the new ones in place

One other thing to fix while I have the springs out, the previous owner welded in these upper spring retainers, completely crooked.

First shot on the spring mounts... its still crooked

So, I cut the tacks, and re mounted the coil bucket.

I was having some troubles finding out why my drivers side spring was sitting crooked even though the passenger side was straight. I took a closer look at the isolators. The one with the bump is the drivers side one. I have never seen a ZJ isolator like this? I assume its for the end of the coil, but still. It only seemed to cause issues.

Welded and painted

And walla-ka-bing-bang

Next quick project was to make more air flow past my air filter. And make the hood vent actually functional, with helping to release heat in the engine bay too

You can see It already has access to air through the grill

Waterproof cover

So, I cut some spacers so I could still screw the hood vent down, but yet I eliminated the factory drip pan

and...... walla-ka-bing-bang

This picture was mid mounting, I realize some are missing haha

I would take the vent mod a step further and open up the holes under the vent into one larger hole.

Yeah..... I'm kinda indifferent about cutting the hood up for that little difference :/

Ordered some Kenwood 6.5" Speakers for all the doors. Can't wait to get rid of that annoying rattling. Anyone have any ideas for the next project for the Jeep besides the rear bumper?
