Justin's WJ Build

Well, I've been modding this poor WJ for about two years. I've been asked where my build thread is quite a few times....so here it go's.

Let's start from the beginning, and little history.

Bought the Jeep as a replacement for another highly modded ride, a 1994 Ford Probe GT. Swapped the motor with a JDM one and did all kind of internal work. complete rebuild, forged everything, 12.5.1 compression, ferrea valves, chromoly valve retainers, R&D valve springs, port and polish on heads and intake, bigger throttle body, 6 pound flywheel, 6 puck clutch, headers, 3 in exhaust, yadda yadda yadda. was revving 9,000 rpm in this car and put down 380hp 391tq. with the final setup with 150 shot of nitrous. I miss it, but cant safely haul the youngin in it.

The Wj come along at a dealer auction and ended up buying it for $1,800. Came with a cracked windshield, slick tires, and a hole in the tranny bellhousing (which i found to be a 6" craftsman chisel that caught the teeth of the flywheel and broke a hole, was still in the bell housing rattling around.).

Here's some pics of the car and the newly bought WJ

Time For A Lift!

Well, i drove the hell outta the Jeep for a while, then i wanted more. Now keep in mind that i was a noob when it came to Jeep back then, I purchased the RCX 4" kit. Got that on and got some 265-75 guard dog treadwright's. I ran that setup for about a year before i wanted even more. I started to get more and more involved in the offroad scene and was increasingly finding my rig lacking in the performance dept. offroad. I started building armor here and there, built some tow points for the front, and contemplated building a front bumper.

Just a few pictures to explain the time frame. In this time the 247 crapped out on me so it was replaced with a 242.

Time For MOAR Steel!

Finally convinced myself to build a front winch bumper.....(im a certified welder)
Was a huge PITA, but i got it done and I'm still happy with it. By this time i had installed my T-case armor, scoped out some wheel tire combinations, and again.....wheeled the heck outta it. Replaced the Tranny by then too....EFLHwoivhLKJFPIjwefklnh!!!!!!!!!!! Hope i never have to do it again by myself.

Picked up some 33x12.50 STT's on craigslist (SCORE!!!) and Jegs Wheels (3.75 BS)

PICS!!!!

No just the front for now, I'll be swapping for either a steel 44 or 8.8 with limited slip sometime in the future.

what are you going to pull the 8.8 out of? Wont you have to run spacers in the rear to match the width?

Hmmm...haven't people put 44 tubes in an 8.8 and swapped over carrier/axles? I think I read something about that. Had to machine the tubes though.
