I am building a versitile and reliable trail rig. I bought it with a blown engine at about 136k miles. So far I've replaced the engine with a new 4.7 that has a 4 year unlimited mile warranty. Also replaced virtually all mechanical parts under the hood. Next I installed a 3.75" Lift, new off road wheels and 31" treadwrights. I replaced the old fogged up headlights and installed a trailer hitch.
The plan is to make the wj into an ultra reliable, versitile expedition rig. Soon to add a functional safari snorkel, build a winch tube bumper and install front and rear aussie lockers.
Alright kiddies I finished building my wj front winch bumper. I've always like the look of baja tube bumpers, so the plan here was to incorporate those design aspects with a regular expedition style winch bumper. It took about 30 hours to build. Completely whipped my a$$. lol
I will be getting it powder coated and then installing a 12000lb winch. I'm just leaving it all tube and going to paint the metal behind the bumper black to blend it in.
I also finished installing the wj safari snorkel. Took about 6 hours. It absolutely is worth the every penny. I could have rigged something up but I need this to be 100% functional. I am impressed with the quality and amount of engineering that went into making this snorkel a water tight and factory looking fit. Also I thought it might cause more of a blind spot along the driver side A pillar, but no it tucks in nicely. You cant even see it from the drivers seat.
The snorkel is one of the most important parts of an expedition rig. When you're traversing through a jungle you never know when you might have to forge a water crossing.
Sweet Jeep man, that thing is suave. And we should start our own club I paid 800 bucks for mine too!
But on a serious note that front bumper is so-so. I think you should just send that one to me and start over...

Got her all shined up just in time to get dirty this wknd! I dont have pictures of them but I installed adjustable upper and lower ca's. The awesome part is they cured the rubbing I was having near the rockers.
