Why put all the effort into modifying a rack when you can just pick one up new for relatively cheap. believe I paid 150 for my Rola, give or take

In the garage I think at this point. Was running the Hammers at Johnson Valley that day and when disconnected and aired down the front tires like to eat the bumper. So I took it off for some eventual trimming.

Eventually I'll trim it haha. Only when I'm disconnected do I have any probs

I agree -- the Rola is good, and is what I have.

If you have the fab skills to modify, then you can make your own complete from tubing, or get the Rola and make your own mount to remove the factory parts completely.

I just removed the cross-rails, as I didn't like the weaknesses they had - flexed too much for my liking, and they only have plastic tabs to hold them in place. I used unitstrut and ubolts to make my own cross rails, mouted to the existing front-to-back rails. It's nice and rugged now.

More details in my build thread.

Good luck
