Fram X2. Hasn't it been said oil is oil and oil filters are oil filters?
I've been using Mobil 1 and Fram filters for 25+ years in all my cars and gas engine boats without any issues. Are they the best - I don't know, but I do know I've never had a filter fail or an oil related engine issue yet.

I will never use another Fram filter. I had the insides of one actually come apart on me causing me a complete rebuild on my Talon. I've always stuck with factory filters since then. If you are going to go with an aftermarket one definitely get an Amsoil though. STAY AWAY FROM FRAM!!!

For quality and price in one package, I'll buy the WIX, sorry the Amzoils are alittle too expensive for me.

In the end, whats the most important thing is: A good maintenance plan !!

In simpler words- change your oil regularly and you shouldn't have problems.

I think I will buy NAPA golds from here on. If they are the same as the Wix then they look pretty good. The filter portion of the TG filter does look cheap and the same as their regular filters, I kind of feel like I've been being ripped off. I'm sure they're OK if you change your oil often but I've been paying extra for a screen, is this correct? I was really impressed with the NAPA gold air filter so I'm sure the oil filter is no different.

Lately I've been driving 25 min to NAPA instead of 5 min to Lordco because of overinflated pricing. Even with my 30% discount Lordco almost always costs more.

In my 2001 4.7L WJ I run the Purolator Pureone filter. Has like 99.9 efficiently. And they are a good price at pepboys around $5. I have opened one up before and the media looks good and build quality is high. Stay away from FRAM which are very cheaply made for the price you pay for them.

I wound up taking your advice and bought a WIX filter. I got it for $5.29 at a local place nearby

I also bought a WIX Air Filter and Cabin Air filter...

Only I didn't realize you needed another part to retrofit the cabin airfilter
