Derek33 has one, but he's not on much anymore. You could try PM'ing him.

I have one, I'll get a pic sometime today and post it. I took out the light bulb on the bezel, because the shift pattern is opposite the original. The shift rod basically just comes through the old bezel.

With the 249 shifter the shifter was all the way forward for 4 hi,( towards the dash) with the novak it's all the way back towards the rear(back seat). The linkage system is not as complex, less levers, so its all the way back. I'll get some pictures of the the shifter when I take some pictures of the cladding I'm painting. The novak knob will show that its installed correctly. It will make more sense when you see the pictures, Later today possible.

guess the 249 tab is different. the 242 and 231 tab is supposed to be installed pointing up and to the rear so that the lever is forward when in 2hi.

I was just looking at their website, the shifter they show, the SK2X, isn't the one I have. Mine is about 2 years old. The shifter knob is engraved to show 4low being frontmost and 4hi being rearmost, I guess that's why everyone is questioning me on this. They have made some changes, i don't rememer the model number on mine.

Mine won't work with the tab up,( i followed their old instructions) that's the difference. If i could my shifter knob would be engraved *** backwords. But then it would shift like your describing.
