Calipers are junk, blend doors, etc. This is all covered in the FAQ.

If the calipers were swapped to the Akebonos, they're no worse than the ZJ for warping rotors, and WJ brakes have a heck of a lot more power.

Definitely worry about blend doors on a Limited.

Follow this video for blend door or other climate contol issues:

YouTube - Jeep Grand Cherokee (WJ) Dual Climate Control Fault Codes

My honest advice would he to keep the ZJ though - the 99s had a lot of unresolved issues...

So far, other than the brakes (which were taken care of under warranty), the 99 WJ Laredo my parents have hasn't had any issues that couldn't be at least partly blamed on the accident it was in and/or poor maintenance. The 99s didn't have that many quirks.

a buddy of mine had a dodge pick up that had the same blend door issues. so jeeps weren't the only ones affected. blend doors probs (dual climate only) and brakes are all i have ever read or heard about having problems. Now my 04 had a heated seat problem but jeep has finally fixed it for the 2nd time.

well i drove it today and man is that 4.7 fast!! its faster than my 5.2 for sure. but i further examined it i did the code thing on the ac control and it had like 5 or 6 codes lol. both right side windows didnt work, the panel on passenger side was falling off, pasint was fading on hood, ac is donesky, interior is like a grayish leather idk about that, and theres something up the the drivers side wheel it makes a noise when turning left and it had 255/70/17 tires on it so it rubbed a little bit they thought something was messed up lol, i really want it but idk if i can part with my zj and all ive done to it and going back to no ac in the summer is gonna suck unless i can get like 3,000 for my car or lower the price on the dub i dont think its gonna happen

haha my ZJ was the 5.2 and i sold it for a 99 v8 and they do have more power.
how much are they asking for that WJ?
seems like a lot of problems to worry about. if theyre asking too much, i'd wait it out until you find a better deal.

It looks like you might be better off waiting for a better one. The 4.7 does have a bit more power than the 5.2, although the 5.2 is easier/cheaper to build up.
