Need Help finding a 47rh O.D. trans

I'm going to drop a 5.2 from a grand cherokee into a little ram50 truck and found a roller block but can't seem to get the right info on the OVER DRIVE tranny's..

From what I gather is the 47rh was in several different vehicles and don't know if since I got the block from a Grand Cherokee that I HAVE TO stay with Jeep or can I look in the other Dodge/Chrysler vehicles? Like Durrango's and Vans?

Then, I know they came out with the 47rE in '96 and that won't work for my application.

SO, what years and models did this elusive trany come in?
Did they offer it in the 6cyl Jeeps also?
Please be specific as possible. And if one can include pics that would be great!

Again, I don't know if the actual trans bell housing is the same for Jeep and Chrysler (for starter locations)

E

Jeep is part of chrysler. the differences in the tranny bell, the dodge and jeep starter is on different sides. My 93 came stock with 5.2 with the 46rh. It should be possible that a bell from a 46rh would bolt up to a 47re/rh. the 47is just a beefed up version the the 46. You should be able to get the out of full size dodge trucks and vans. You gonna have to look at V8s and bigger engines possibly diesel engines. Dakotas and Durangos im pretty sure came with 44REs, my dakota did anyways.

the 47rh is a massive transmission it's a lot different from the 46rh and was used behind the cummins 6bt and the v10. the bell housings are integral to the transmissions and the 47 does NOT use the same chrysler small block bell housing pattern as the 44rx and 46rx transmissions.

dodge also uses a driver's side starter where jeep uses a passenger side starter. get a dodge trans for your dodge truck.
