I need to get some newer pics up of the Taurus fan setup. It kept melting the 40amp relays (but not the 40amp fuse). I threw in a Ford starter solenoid, and it died after 1 day of use, so what I ended up doing is ordering a PAC-80 80amp continuous, 150amp peak solenoid from Amazon. Every review listed was someone using it for this fan. I installed it Saturday, and it still works great. The fan seems to move a little faster too. I am afraid though, that the fan has a bad bearing and that's what was causing it to melt relays. We'll see.

I used the ford solenoid for my western plow - not continuous use but 200-400 amps lifting the plow and etc... surprised it died

yup. Installed it @ 9am, drove probably 120-130 miles that day on and off, and the next morning, it didn't work.

looks good. we made a belly skid for mine that sits almost perfectly flush with the crossmember. totally flat front joints to rear. i'll be doing boatsides in the next couple months since they're all the rage right now and all my friends are making them easily and cheap for their xj's. and i can sell my jcr's for more than enough 2x6 for the job.

It's a Jeep, it's not supposed to work right all the time.

One of the guys in our club went to the Jeep Jamboree in Pennsylvania recently.

Check the pics, and note that pic #17 is a WK2 that followed the Barbie Jeeps through what you see leading up to pic # 17.

the taurus fan was pretty easy, although I'd stick with the Hydraulic Fan setup you've got, unless you've got issues with it.

EDIT: I start in 2 weeks.

No kidding. I've been where I'm at for just over 5 years, and the past couple years, the current company has gone in a different direction than I want my career to. I started piecing together a resume, and went to my first interview in almost a decade (walked onto current position by old clients moving to the company I work for now, and demanding that they keep me).

They really liked me, and my skillset, and I really liked what I saw there and how they do business. I think if I can manage 5+ years there, that my options will pretty much be limitless.

so, I've been so busy with the new job, I haven't had time to get on here, or do anything to the Jeep.

I spent last week out of town doing training, and thought I'd get some FAQ-organization time in the evenings in the hotel, but ended up studying my *** off to pass the certification test. (which I did btw)
