That sounds like the tranny output seal. If that's the case, you're going to want to fix that ASAP. Mine went a couple of years ago and my tranny ran out of fluid very quickly.

On a 96, running without the front shaft won't cause any issues.

The leak where the transfer case meets the transmission is due to the transmission output seal and/or the transfer case input seal. If you're planning on a TC swap, you should replace both seals. Napa has them for $10-15 each.

got mah jeep back today shocks still ride a little stiff but they need to break in but man it feels good to have my car back. as for mods the next thing im gonna do is put in a cb radio with a pa speaker im financially drained right now so might take a couple weeks. so little mods to do so much money to spend wait scratch that and reverse it

put on my tow hooks today too gonna trim my bumper once i get bigger tires it would probly just look weird with the tires i have on now sorry all my pics are in my driveway but i dont have 4wd and i dont want to offroad without it kinda pointless

yeah im gonna put my cladding back on tho and repaint my bumpers black i think it will look better i also may be getting a 242 next week in really good condition for 2 hunge
