run the kelly blue book on it...then take off a grand or more. you should donate your clear corners and that spare grill to a needy zj neighbor

You will need a U joint yoke for the front axle and a single/double cardan front driveshaft.

What he said.

Change out the front yoke - get one on the boards or from a junkyard, and any driveline shop can slap it on for you in a jiffy.

Get a front driveshaft from either a ZJ with a u-jointed shaft, or an XJ. Swap it in.

They're more likely on a 4.0 ZJ. You should be alright at 3.5" with a stock length driveshaft out of a 96-98 4.0 ZJ. The 93-95 ZJ's with a 5.2 and 249 have the longest driveshaft out of all the factory ZJ's as far as I know.

i was looking at rockauto parts and found this, this is the ujoint yoke correct? and if so i will just need this and dc driveshaft with ujoints, what about the back of the ds where it goes into the transfer case does that need to be u joint as well or cv?

That's the double cardan yoke for the driveshaft. That will not bolt up to your axle. You need something that looks like this:

Driveshafts typically have a slip joint built in so they can extend with the suspension. Is this what you're thinking of?

idk i dont really know much about this kind of stuff im trying to learn as best i can theres just so many little parts and things its alot to comprehend. ive read over the 242 swap threads and it still confuses me lol maybe im just slow idk but it just seems that theres alot of different variables to pinpoint exactly what I need
