yeah dude once i got my tires balanced it drives soo much better now i can go 75+ on the highway and it feels stock maybe even a little smoother. im gonna get the iro tie rod with rod ends soon im gonna do some other mods first. I hear a hum on my driveshaft so i think i need to get it balanced and im going to drain and fill my diffs with synthetic. also a kolak ignition kit. probly get tires somepoint between all that i plan on getting this all done by the end of this year

have you checked the u joints on the driveshaft? i think a misbalanced ds would present with a vib instead of a hum...but im not really sure. and i think your stock tre's will work with the iro tr....i almost ordered one the other day when i bought my tre's of ebay.....3 moog ends.....35$ i know...sweet deal huh? what all does kolak put in the ignition kit? im scared mine might go "boom" if i up the hp anymore. lol. 150k and shes getting a little tender these days

yea 99% positive it is coming from where the ds goes to the diff which is a cv joint. well my tre arent in the best shape might as well replace them. in the kolak ignition: Here's all the information about my Kolak Ignition Upgrade for your 1996 ZJ V8:

My recommendations for the 5.2/5.9 ZJ ignition system are designed to improve idle quality and throttle response, and to improve and maximize current transfer. This really helps support other modifications. Here's what I recommend:

Magnecor KV85 ignition wires
MSD high output replacement coil
Heavy duty US made brass terminal distributor cap with rotor
Autolite platinum plugs (one heat range colder than stock)

Price for the kit is $250.00

oh....for some reason i thought you just had all new tre's put in...guess it was just the pitman arm end. that ignition sounds badass....you may wanna drop you thermostat a little lower as well. im not really sure why they do it...but most ppl that ramp up the ign. also cool the spark plugs and thermostat a tad too. dunno

yup i really need to get around to replacing bushings and that kind of stuff. hopefully ill get a job soon. instead of getting the CA bushings from iro or somewhere similar, would it make sense to get the daystar full polyurethane set for the whole jeep?

yeah i was thinking about getting that kit too theyre the polyurethane bushings. i think iro sells the stock type bushings. i just figure im gonna be doing all 8 adjustable arms and then going to 4.5" so ill change the bushings as i get my control arms

im at 3.5". so how was the ride with adjustable arms at 4.5" when your bushings were good? im debating on whether doing long arms up front or not. this is my daily driver

Im sorry to say i cant tell you. I picked this zj up for a hell of a deal from a guy who built it up as his dd in high school. pretty cool, but i can definitely tell you the ride has gotten worse since i got it, i cant really think of anything other than the bushings. Other people, such as Redhatman, have had up to like 6" on short arms. I am in the process of kinda rebuilding this zj, doing alot of maintenance and replacing.

could be balljoints theres alot of different things that can make it ride bad. if ur gonna check bushings you might as well buy a bushing kit and redo them while you take out your control arms bc they are a pain in the ase!
