Yeah, it is solid, or will be once I build it. They had a sale when I bought mine, got the bumper with shackles delivered for 460$. Not bad. Just got done looking up some of the new Rigid Industries SR-Q series surface mount leds. Think i might have to have work comp me a set... They ought to look sweet flush mounted on the bumper.

Isn't that the way it always goes! Fortunately I do now. Unfortunately I had to sell my Duramax, Weekend Warrior and the 72 red Beetle to get it. In the end though I ended up nearly debt free (still have a mortgage and one car payment) and I have a ZJ and some cash to throw at it. All in all I guess it's a good trade off as I'll use the ZJ hopefully a bit more than the three things I sold.

My ZJ is my DD and only vehicle, seeing as I'm 18 and work for just over minimum wage at the YMCA... When I ship out for the army in July, though, I won't have anything to spend my money on except my Jeep! Lookin' forward to that day!

Been there! Almost did the air force but I followed a girl out of high school... Needless to say I should have gone in. Wouldn't trade it now though. Good luck and thank you for your service!

My buddy is doing Air Force! He got a full ride scholarship to WVU through their ROTC program and then is going in for crypto-analysis specializing in Russian. Smart dude! But I almost followed my GF. She is going to legendary Butte, MT for engineering school. I could've gone to the same school for diesel tech or auto mechanics, but I have always wanted to be a Ranger. So I made it happen!

Ranger school huh? Awesome man. That ain't easy! The satin black bug a few pages back is my buddies, he's was in force reconcile then marsoc. Now he's on his way to retirement.

AF wanted me for avionics. I maxed out the electronics and mechanical tests for the asvab. Should've taken em up on it. I could have gotten out in 4 years and made 6 figures a year in the private sector. Took about 4 times that not going in.

Oh well! No complaints, hind sight is always 20/20!

Started work on the bumper tonight. Still need welding gas so I can tack it and test fit it.

Force Recon was my second choice if I couldn't get Rangers. Fortunately, I grabbed one of the last Ranger contracts in the country for this quarter. My recruiters are amazing (something I don't think anyone has EVER said before ). They don't lie, but they sure as hell work! Anyway, if I get that bumper kit, I have a girlfriend who welds 5x better than I do so she can do it as a project for her welding class for credit, and I get free labor out of the deal!

HAHA, I have a good friend who's now EX wife was a better welder than him too.... She welded up his back half and front and rear 4 links on his HUGE Dodge 2500. Nothing wrong with a woman that can't handle a stick or torch!

Exactly! I am not ashamed to say that yes, she is a much better welder than I am! Like you said, nothing wrong with a woman that can handle a torch or stick

Tires and wheels are at the tire store getting mounted. Might as well start welding the bumper!

Ok bumper is partially welded but on. Winch is on. Just had the front end aligned and tires put on.
