the teraflex coils do lift the front more than the rear, which makes the jeep sit perfectly level instead of a slight rake like stock.... however, as soon as you put a full size spare tire and some tools and a jack in the rear... well now it's not level anymore i have a set of spacers to put in the rear to hike it back up a little, just need to get around to installing them

i know nothing about the IRO coils, so can't comment

just happen to be out wheeling just north of Scottsdale, AZ today when a freak snow storm came through!

http://picasaweb.google.com/kristoff...26BartlettLake

on a not-as-fun note, one of my IRO front coil spring retainers came loose... then when the spring hit the thing, it bent the sheetmetal where they mount to and stripped it... so now i have to get someone to weld a tube in there or something that will hold up better.

picked up the jeep from the shop today that fixed my spring guides/retainers. they welded a nut to a big washer, then re-drilled the hole in the spring perch big enough for the nut to fit up into, then welded all of that to the perch. they also got some longer bolts for the IRO pieces so they would fully thread into the new nut setup... total cost: welding + nuts and bolts = $70.... not bad, but man i gotta take some time and learn basic welding!

Thanks! it would be depressing to add up everything, especially as the value of the Jeep itself has dropped so much in the past year. I bought it for $12k, then just in the lift and install there is another $3,600. The wheels and tires were nearly $2k. Then all of the little things really add up too, like brake lines, tow hooks, steering stabilizer, tie-rod, rotors, spring retainers, skid plates, headlights, addco, etc. I haven't done lockers, gears or bumpers yet.. those will be the big price tag items eventually.

actuall lift height

had someone ask me what my center-of-hub to fender measurements are with the teraflx springs:

rear 22.25"
front 23"

i never measured mine stock, but generally accepted wisdom is that stock on the WJ is 18", so that means i netted 5" front and 4.25" of lift rear.

that makes a nice level stance... untill you load the rear. with a full tank of gas, full size spare, lots of tools, recovery gear, and some survival crap in the back, i loose nearly 1" in the rear.
