As soon as winter hits and I need to warm up the garage via welding, I'll update Until then, I'll enjoy my Jeep working just fine for now...

Hey I see that you had the Rola Roof Rack on your old XJ. Did you like it?

loved it, especially for the price! only problem was with the extension in the middle and it only supported by 2 cross-bars - the middle would sag. i had a guy weld the extension in and it was fine then.

i use it on the WJ too sometimes, but again, the factory cross-bars are the weak leak. i plan to have a fab shop rip off all the factory stuf and fab a way to mount it directly to the roof kinda like the AEV rack does.

decided on a place to mount a fire extinguisher, did mag-lite while i was at it. there aren't many options with the interior so rounded in the WJ. it hasn't gotten in the way when getting in and out so far:

on the flashlight, i used some great clamps from a guy that's in my local clubs, he sells them on ebay under the user "TVPICARD", just search for "MAG LITE CLAMP", they are a very sturdy coated spring steel and won't break like the official maglite brand plastic ones.

ride great, there is some road noise as i guess any mud-terrain will have, but not a huge howl like i have heard coming from trucks with swampers and the like

yes! well it's supposed to go on the WJ.. that's the idea anyway...

clayton told me he just needed to make a different rear bar for the ZJ skid to work with the WJ, i told him to just send me the plate and I would have a local guy create and weld the bar to make sure it doesn't interfere with my exhaust.

you can see on this post over on MC how it mounts and why you might need to make the bends in the bar different depending how how/where your exhuast is shaped and mounted: http://www.mallcrawlin.com/forum/sho...9&postcount=27

That skid is nice ; I really like the fact that it "skids" the crossmember itself, my stock one is so beat up now, I'd like to protect the calyton's one once I get it, the only issue I see is how to attach a tranny/engine skid to it....

Keep up the good work and post pics of the fabbed rear mount once you get it on the heep.
