Thanks man.

No I didn't get time. Dropped it off Monday at Greg's and picked it up Wednesday after work. I just didn't have time. And when I do it, I'm going to do it right the first time. And get a nice setup.

Looks good. Need Greg to build a tube bumper for the front.

Take pictures of rubicon. Friends went their two, weeks ago and said it was like a rough road..

Hey ,an, so I have a couple questions for you, they may have been answered but I didn't run across them when looking through your build.

First, wondering how you like the Viper coils? We're the rates available and acurate? And have they kept their height? And also, I have been doing a lot of research as I want coilovers someday, how in depth did you go when planning your setup? Did you get corner sprung weights, use any calculators, and take in to account shock geometry/wheel rate/installation ratio/ all that good stuff? And if not, how did it turn out? Thanks for any help, not many people have coilovers on dubs and I remember seeing you did, so thought I would ask

I've only had it on the viper coils for about a month, and this Rubicon trip was the first time really cycling g the suspension. And I only have 16" 350 vipers on the front lowers.

As for the calculators dealing with spring rates, yeahhhhhhh never used them. I followed the escape artist that Chris built for a customer and he used 250/350 on the front and rear. So I figured that would be the best place to start. Greg did all the suspension calculations for the 3 link front. He designed the rear mounts similar to the escape artist build, and the fronts as high as they can go in the engine bay to achieve the desired travel and ride height.

Out at the 'con, it did very well. After driving it a bit around town and mild flexing, I was worried it would be too soft, but it performed flawlessly. I never hung a tire, felt pretty stable on every obstacle. The soup bowl denied me, it seems more dug out than Greg's videos. But all in all, I've been very pleased with the set up.

Nice! I'm glad it's working well for you, and you can always mess with shock valuing too, or even do a triple rate setup to make further adjustments if needed. But that's inspiring, I mean, I would like to do it the super technical way cause I'm kind of OCD about things being perfect, but damn there is a lot you have to do, the hardest being getting all the corner sprung weights and stuff. And yes, con pics would be awesome!

Just past Cadillac hill, some tj bent a tie rod and held up the line for about a half hour. Girls were partying on the scrambler. High lift handle later, guy was on his way.

Out look to the left of little sluice.

On the first obstacle on post 685, did you come down on your sliders at all? Awesome pics, you have some serious travel with those coilovers.

I don't think I did.

Soup bowl I was slamming on them pretty hard. And used them to slide around some rocks. But the kick out on the didn't save me around one tight turn. Tree hit drivers rear door and rear quarter panel. Not bad at all.

I only rubbed at the very bottom front of my front fenders and a little on the coilover reservoir hoses. And in the back I was somehow grabbing the right rear door cladding and pulling it off. I may just need to adjust that side out a few turns.

Glad to see you had a good time out without any carnage. Still liking the choice of the 5.38's?

The only carnage I would have had was the driveshafts, hubs, axle shafts in the front or u joints. Basically the whole front axle minus steering. Hahah. I'm not sure if I want to upgrade just yet. But I only needed to use the front locker less than 5 times. I was hoping to make it up the soup bowl. That was my goal.

But anyways, Hahah, yes. I'm glad I got 5.38s. I will have 40s as soon as my 37s wear out or I blow 2 sidewalls.
