Fronts built.





Axle painted.



No more frame jack stands. On its weight. Front end needs to be finished up with the outers. 7 up and 7 down.



Brand new spindles.

Hahah. Thanks guys.

It's really not that tall the tires measure 36.5" and there is about 6.5" from the top of the tire to rear fender. Haven't had the front tire on to measure yet.

All new parts look pretty not, but I really really want to wheel it.

Had another slip up with the front axle. Apparently the long side axle shaft Had broken at one time, and they replaced it with a shaft that was too long and cut the end of the splines to make it work. Well the new inner seal wasn't allowing the shaft to slide into the carrier. Greg worked his magic and extended the sealing surface to make it work. Looks like I'll need chromos sooner than later.







Also picked up the u joints I needed.

I appreciate all the comments guys. These past 2 months are killing me, I just want to wheel!

We have been having a ton of problems with this front axle, now the brake caliper bracket has a hole that keeps the pads in and its wallowed out and isn't accepting the tap Greg is trying to use. I should have just saved a bit more and went with a 609 like I ultimately want.

Then I wasn't thinking when I bought the sye, I ordered a non CV yoke, when I need a CV yoke. Got that situation fixed yesterday. Basically all that's left is to get this front axle situated, plumb the brakes, and get drive shafts built. Greg's building those too off my old front and a free shaft I picked up from David with like 12" of slip.

VSS should be here Friday, and after reading a link Dillon posted, it should be an easy install. Was hoping for some weekend memorial day Wheeling, but with talking to Greg, it doesn't look like it will happen. Greg has been putting in some long days lately, but the front axle isn't cooperating at all.
