Or just bolt another one on like factory. Cutting and welding sounds like a lot of work.

haha there aren't many axles that have brake caliper brackets cast into them, just some TTB ford stuff and I think unit bearing dana 60's. Check out post number 538, about 30 posts back. You can see the brake brackets

If the bracket was one with the knuckle that would be opening a whole new can of worms lol

I am really glad you mentioned that bolt, I forgot to install mine when I did the front brakes and your ordeal reminded me.

Dillon, we found out exactly how important that bolt is, and all I can say is you'd be having a bad day without it haha. From the short test drive Marc and I did a few days ago (less than a mile), the H block was half way to removing itself.

TJSWJ, the bracket came in today and I got it installed. Apparently this one uses a 3/8" bolt which caught us by surprise, but not enough to slow us down . Marc left for home with the WJ about 15 minutes ago. Here's to smooth sailing on the trip home!

Hahah. I have had since Saturday, but.....

And this time its not my Jeep! We took my buddies 4runner Saturday to get my jeep. On the way back, the rear pinion bearing seized and locked up the tires at freeway speed on highway 80. I was behind him and saw the whole thing. Managed to get on the shoulder and slid sideways for about 200 feet. It could have been REALLY bad, especially with no doors, a dog, and a ton of snap on tools in the back.

We were on the side of the freeway for about 2 hours. And got towed by a ford :-( but it all worked out.

I still have to get the shocks filled with nitrogen. Driving it home and to work one day without it, and man it was soft. Hopefully I'll have some flex shots later in the week. No speedo sucks, but I'll be fixing that soon. It stalls slowing down from freeway speeds at times, I'm guessing from the lack of speed reading. And it drives way better than it did before. No death wobble, slight vibe at 65 from rear pinion angle. Easy to adjust. Other than that, its 100 times better than before. Cruising 65 mph, rpms are around 2100 with the 5.38s and 37s. Before I was could barely cruise 55-60 and hold speed easily with 3.73s and 35s.

99 WJ hp44, 3 link, Eaton e locker, 14" foa coilovers in the front. 14 bolt, 4 link, grizzly locker, 12" foa coilovers in the rear. 5.38s and 37s

The ultimate failure of my trans happened when the ATF mixed with coolant and all sorts of bad stuff happened. Though I can't deny that some of the problems were probably related to the speedo haha

So the radiator was the main cause for failure?

And is that why you ultimately started the nv3500 project?
