Installed my new speakers and head unit, today.

The PO has a Kenwood amp already in the car that I wired everything into. Now I just need a subwoofer and I'll be g2g.

I figured that while I had the door panels off, I might as well get rid of the ugly wood theme. It's not actually this shiny. I used undercoat spray to spray it, and I also used it to spray the bezels by my steering wheel. I like the texture and it looks nice.

Bad news: The area on my hood where I painted is starting to chip off

All put together:

Project for this weekend:

I saw a gold ZJ today that also had what looked like 30" tires. I wanted to ask the owner if they rubbed on their control arms, but turns out it was an 80 year old woman

I need a roof rack! I'm considering this: http://www.discountramps.com/roof-rack-basket.htm

And then for a subwoofer: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-gxCjDbr...er-reviews-tab

Nah, just the roof rack and that's all the extra exterior black. I will probably monstaline the bumper, cladding, and hood (as my paint is peeling), but it will be a white monstaline. I may even white monstaline the roof rack if any is left over.

Well, yesterday evening I was driving to the mechanic and the engine cut out on me. Had to leave it on the corner over night, and tow it to the mechanic this morning. Probably needs a new alternator, but time will tell. If I have any money left over I'll probably replace the starter, as well. In fact, I'm going to make a list and just replace all the common things since at 250,000+ miles, they'll go out on me eventually if I don't.

Money Pit!

Not a bad idea. When mine was not starting, I had a hunch it was the fuel pump or the starter. I didnt mind replacing both because they were both original and looked ancient. Now I have peace of mind, at least as far as those parts go.

Noticed the link was to crutchfield, give this company a try. http://www.sonicelectronix.com/
I have used them for years and there prices and shipping are about 30-60 % less than crutchfield.

Hey, sweet. I will certainly check them out! Crutchfield has never done me wrong but if I can get the same thing cheaper, I'm all for it!

Alright, ZJ now has new:

Battery
Battery Cables
Rear swaybar & endlink bushings
Steering gearbox
4wd selector was broken and now fixed

Oh Jeep Gods please be kind as my wallet is now empty.

I've updated the first post with everything that's been done, and what all I'd like to do.

We're supposed to get at least a foot of snow this weekend so I'm hoping the Jeep is feeling well enough to go out and play!

here you go. http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...s-Package.html $81.97 shipped to your door. Much better than that box you were looking at from crutchfield

Thanks, dude! That is better... I didn't think I needed 1000W lol.

So, I got the Jeep back today. Turns out my battery cables were corroded and my battery was about shot. They said it has a parasitic drain that will drain the battery if it sits for a month, so that's something I need to look into.

I need wheel spacers! The mechanic said that he though my problem could be fixed with new springs to raise the front end, but in my head I don't see how that would work since it rubs on the control arms. Is he right? Also, how do I find out what spacers I need? Put it into full turn and measure? It's not that big of a deal, since I usually try to park where I can pull straight out of, but I'd like it fixed, anyway.

Boom! Winter Storm Warning so hopefully the Jeep will get out and play, tomorrow!
