Really happy with how it turned out. I need to sand everything down, but this will do for now. I mean, it is a Jeep afterall

Alright, so on the 11th I am going to order...

New brake rotors & pads
Rusty's air-tube
IRO 3" Exhaust / Kolak Exhaust (undecided)

I had began trying to do my control arms but my impact wrench couldn't get the bolts off so I thought about just taking to the shop... but now I've decided to man up, soak the !@)#(!) out of them with Break Free, and will knock them out on Tuesday (gotta work tomorrow, and today I feel lazy and hungover).

Thanks!

Lower control arms are soaking in Break Free right now. I'm hoping to change the rears today and the fronts tomorrow.

Also will be ordering Kolak's 3" exhaust with the 50 Series SUV muffler and Magnaflow cat. My exhaust shop quoted me $80-120 for the install and weld, and another $120 to fabricate a y-pipe.

LCA's aren't hard at all. For the rears, just unbolt and replace one side at a time.
For the fronts, make sure you mark the alignment washer in reference to the control arm, or you will never get the alignment back in place!

I changed mine in the driveway without lifting it. I put it in 4LO, park, and set the e-brake. This keeps the wheels in their places and the new parts will line right up! Remember to only change 1 arm at a time!!!!

Won't be bad! Good luck!

Well, I got the rear control arms swapped out. It took longer than I was anticipating because the mounting brackets were bent inward causing my new control arms not to fit. So, I literally banged the crap out of them with my mallet for four hours. Oh well, success!

Tomorrow I'll do the fronts.

Good to see you had a frosty beverage!!
If the mounts weren't bent, that woulda been a piece of cake.
Good luck with the fronts tomorry!
I gotta get me thumbs outta me arse and change my front passenger's LCA....

I'm a little confused on the fronts. I see the little marker thing to make sure they're put on correctly, but I guess I'm confused on how that lines up with the control arm.

Take an awl or whatever sharp, scribing instrument you might use.
Scribe a line on the alignment washer from the center outward on an area where you can scribe a corresponding reference line on the mount.
Also, scribe around as much of the circumference of the alignment washer as you can. One can never have too many reference points!!
You are marking it to reassure it's re-assembled correctly. The CA, just has the bolt slide through it. What matters is how the alignment washer is placed when the bolt is tight.
Did I word that clearly or did I confuse you? LOL

So if I take a white paint pen and circle the current washer, then make sure the washer is lined up with the circle when I place the new one on, I should be good to go?

That will work too. Unless you're like me.....
I could get dirty in an all white, sterile room. Then everything I touch gets dirty too....
I'd definitely need to degrease the parts to re-align everything if I used a paint pen. Funny, but not funny... lol

Haha yeah, I'm the same way. Thanks for all the help! I'll update, tomorrow, when I get the fronts swapped. Hopefully the brackets wont be bent on these.

Bad News: Spent 3 hours (yes, three, hours) trying to get my upper passenger control arm in. The bracket was bent down to the 250,000 mile stock control arm. When I finally got my new one it, it wont line up. The old one was so worn down I think it shifted the axle making the new one impossible to line up. Oh, and I ran out of beer.

Good News: I ordered Kolak's 3" exhaust, so I'll just have my shop put on the front lower control arms when they weld & install my exhaust.
