The P.O.s certainly didn't keep things clean in the ZJ, but from it's running condition, I'd say it was well maintained since it's major components are in such good mechanical/running condition, except the VC is spent in the T-case, but since that's not an item that can be maintained, there's no preventing that.
Going to swap the 249 for a 231 soon. I'm hoping that the ZJ's body and I both live long enough to see it at 300K.
The highest annual mileage on any vehicle I've owned was 8,176mi. Lowest, 2,054mi., so it's gonna take me a while....

I have a 1998 Jeep Cherokee with all original parts (engine, transmission, t-case Ect) 260,000km and still going strong. If it ever goes, ill drop a brand new 4.0L i6 in through Quadratec.
2002 WJ limited 4.7 ..... 160k . No engine or running gear issues. Raised on Mobil 1 and regular normal maintenance. No change in oil usage since new ( 4-6k per quart) , no change in mpg ( 14-20 ) , and best of all no change in drivability. Build date 2/02..... No plans to sell it.
I have a 94 zj with a 5.2 with 181XXX. Changed the whole cooling system out and the transmission. But engine is all original.

i was a contractor delivering rv's and buses out of indiana, my yj has 265,000 miles on it! i had a tow bar towed the unit to it's destination drove back!! it was a great gig and the wrangler tows well!! i wish i never failed my D.O.T for diabetes, but such is life!! love my jeep!! getting restored right now!
