Over the next week or so, I'm going to put together my last 2 1/2 years of building and learning.
So to start, I bought my Chargold 1995 Grand Cherokee Limited off of ebay in June of 2008, with the intention of getting my hands dirty and becoming a mechanic in the process. Now, I really had no experience on cars in general - i had always been into bikes, but being 16 and buying insurance, 4 wheels suited my wallet better - so i really didn't know what exactly i was looking at. "Eh, Jeep, leather, v8, 4x4, lifted, a/c, $3000? Sure." After a bit of research, it became apparent to me that my Jeep came with this terrible back-yard redneck 3" lift slapped under it, consisting of 3" pieces of pipe welded to the top of the coil, running no isolators, some worn-out ranchos, and nothing else. However, it also became apparent that ZJ's were the single greatest godly mode of transportation bestowed upon mankind. I spent some time of Kevins, Rustys, IRO, and then in MC. So I decided I'd have to ditch everything under it and start over, buying a completely new lift, replacing all of the welded coils, all worn parts and bushings, getting my Jeep to ride better and be generally safer (and a little cooler! ). It was at this point that Goldie Lox was born, and subsequently, my bank account cursed with a constant infinite black hole to which i will forever be dumping my money.

No pics of it installed. (I never really kept track of it until after i lifted it.) But here are the coils, control arm bushings, and shocks on my garage floor.

My first real mod was my light bar and the 4 KC knockoffs.



So after that, I got the old IRO 4.5" budget kit, before they had the trackbar mount. Over the next 6 months i bought all adjustable control arms, one set at a time. The rear came first, with rough country arms, then the front with ironmanfab4x4 arms. During this time i also switched to a u-joint front driveshaft.

After i got the 4 adjustables, I bought 1" spacers for the front and rear, running 31's still at 5.5" of lift. As i ran this, getting the finishing touches on the lift, i built up the rack to what it is now.

Then came 33's, cb radio and dual whips, shaved throttle body, and the dumped cherrybomb exhaust.

Over the next year i got some random finishing pieces for the suspension, steering, and driveline. And more recently, i bought a Rclwelding winch bumper and put an XRC-8 on it.

dude... i love it man. that thing is awesome. but i highly doubt you need that much of a drop hitch haha. i also like the 12v socket you put in along with the location of your cb. good work keep it up

Yeah, lol, i usually run a 3/4" D-ring hitch, but i have that 9" billet aluminum drop that i bought at a scrap metal yard for $8. It's just fun to put on and judge people's reactions lol. And yeah, i got really done with having only 1 power socket.

a better reaction would be turning it upside down to make it a rise! haha. yeah same here on the 1 power socket thing i bought a 1 into 3 adapter thingy it works but its not very clean looking. i might do some socket installs like you did.

It was really easy and not hard at all to make it look clean. And yeah, i'll have to turn it into a rise sometime! But i doubt i'll be able to open the hatch with a 9" rise lol.

Yeah. It was like $7 or $8 at Pepboys. Works fine and now i have a free socket, since my GPS is always in the oem one.
