Matti's Swedish Arctic Circle WJ build

Hi!
I have at last gotten me a new WJ. I sold my old one a year ago and yesterday i picked up my new one.
Its a 1 owner WJ Limited 2002 with the Mercedes Benz 2,7 CRD Diesel, its in very good condition, not mint, but very close. It's a black/dark grey leather interior in very good condition.

Reason for the thread name. I live above the Arctic circle in northern Sweden.

2012 02

My plans
Sell the "20 weels and buy me a set of "17 alloys and 265/70
A full 4" lift
New lights front and rear.
Interior lights.
Install new speakers.
Roof cross rails with snowboard holder.
and some mounting for the bike.
Rebuild the front seat, due to wear =S
Full stainless exhaust from the turbo, all the way back.
And allot of small mods.

This is how she sat when i bought her. Photos are from my 1920mile trip back from where i bought the car. I flew down yesterday to Stockholm and there i picked up the car and then i picked up my bike outside Sthlm (which you can see in the last pics). Then i drowe all the way back in one go.. i was back here this morning at 5am.

Well i am sick of the DUB style. And i need a lifted ride.

Post as it happens wich might be a tad slow since i go to Thailand next sunday.

How she sits now:

Mods done 2011
Rough Country "4 lift
Mamba "17 wheels with General Graber AT2 265/70R17.
Dual steering stabilizers.
New DLS high performance tweeters
Black Fire Extinguisher installed in the trunk.
New Jeep and Grand Cherokee emblems installed.
Thule Tow hook bike carrier.

2012.
Clayton "4,5 coils att all 4 corners.
JKS Quicker disos.
Battery Relocated to the trunk.

More will come as I make progress!

Well better to do some progress on my truck.
I put in an order on wheels now, along with a "4 raise.

I am also changing occupation right now. Which will occupies my time pretty much along with the Camaro build. But i will try to get a tank raise done soon!

I have used my car for couple of longer trips. One yesterday with Down Hill cycling. And its just amazing how much you can fit in these. And the mileage is wickid! 0.76liters/10km! Thats incredible good for a 2.2 metric ton truck! My old 4.7WJ had a mileage of 1.1Liters/10km! Thats a big different during a year. and considering that the gas costs, $9 a gallon! And the diesel cost around $8 and i fuel tax free diesel which costs $5 a gallon

Anny way. Yesterday my friend and i went DH i Levi Finland. We took the Jeep of course!

I will have the wheels here this week for a test fit! I post as they appear

Ok first of all, That's a Nice looking Jeep.
But i cannot believe That you changed out a 4.7L V8 with a 2.7L CRD???

I understand That it use a little less fuel, but now you dont have the feeling, power, and sound That the V8 gives you. Nobody drive a Jeep for gas consumption reasons.

Go buy your self a Prius and debadge it and put a Jeep sticker on it.

Anyway it Looks great though.

Thats what i thought as well! I bought the 4,7 for the V8 soud and offcourse the tq! I had the V8 for a year and i drove 12500miles during that time. I loved that car but since gas prices here are sick, and i got good price on Diesel, That was an option for me!
Always when i was going some where i wanted to take the jeep but if i went with friends they always said, No its to pricey... Not any more!

In the CRD you got the power it got allot of tq! No, you dont have the v8 sound and thats the only thing i miss about my 4,7! Otherwise the CRD is a good engnie low end TQ wich is awesome for offroad, great towing capacities and good fuel consumption.

Nice WJ. From your original pictures, your bottom pic has different rims, the the others. Looks like 2 different sets of 20 inch rims.

Edit: Just noticed how you said it was similar to your old one. Helps if I read.
