Magnuts 04 Laredo Build
Well I'm on JF enough that I thought it was time to throw together a build thread, so here goes......

In about september of 2007 I bought an 04 WJ 4.0 Laredo. Stayed stock for quite a while.

I do alot of camping and spend quite a bit of time in the Alberta Rockies. First mod happened to be my first ever welding project. Did alot of research and eventually came up with this for a roof rack.

It turned out really good, holds two mtn bikes, and can support me with no problem.

Stock Flex

A few months later, after many hours on JF I was on the hunt for a BB. I was living in Colorado at the time, and was fortunate enough to find a used Old Man Emu HD kit for slightly more than a BB would have run. Grabbed a jack and jack stands from Wal Mart, and installed it in the parking garage of my apartment. Wal Mart was kind enough to take to jack back afterwards. :D
Went with 245/75/16 REVO's on my stock wheels.

Shortly after, I found a cheap set of JK 16" alloys, which gave the WJ a fresh look.

Took a "little" road trip out east. Wheeling on the beach at Race Point, Cape Cod MA

Once I made my way back to Alberta, I went out on a few open runs with the Calgary Jeep Association. Learned quickly that I wanted to upgrade to some MT's

Sold the Revo's and bought a set of 245/75/16 Kumho KL71 MT's. Loved these tires! Will definitely buy another set

(they didn't help with this one)

Around this time I also added a factory hitch with wiring, built a t case skid, made a heat shield/ splash guard for my intake and did the TJ gas filler mod

Took my focus off the Jeep for a little bit and built up this trailer for camping and such

Looks good is that a diy intake??

Decided the JK wheels would look good black, so took my time and painted them up

Was about to move to Texas, with lots of highway driving in sight, so I sold the MT's, and the roof rack. Picked up a set of JK Sahara 18's, and built a swing down tire carrier for the spare.

Been driving all over the south, not much time to wheel, but recently I removed the pinstripe, and just last night picked up a full set of JK 17's with almost new Silent Armors.

I'll get some pics soon.

I met with a fabricator today in Ft Worth about building me a bumper. Its going to be a couple weeks before I can leave my jeep with him for a few days to get it done, but its going to be a kind of prerunner style bumper. Can't wait!

Its a cheapo ebay intake, home made shield thanks to a black Rubbermaid garbage can

Wow work good? I want mine to be like that soon. Waiting for the bb and some limited headlights.

Forgot some things......Somewhere in there I added Stillen rotors, an Addco Rear Sway bar and a JKS adjustable Track Bar. Rides way better than stock.

Not sure how well it works as a heat shield, but definitely blocks water from splashing up

what kind of trimming did you do on the front end to squeeze those 255/75/17's in?

The time now is 09:44 AM.
