The Lost Jeep...

This story starts on January 31, 2000 when my parents went to a local Jeep dealership to purchase a Jeep. The car was already on the lot when they went there. With 30K in cash, they purchased their first car together. It was a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo in Stone White with 15 Miles on it. It was the most basic model you could basically get. Fast forward two years, I was born (yes I am only 13) and it was in that Jeep that I was brought home from the hospital in. But then all the problems started happening. Everything was breaking. Breaks and break lines kept being replaced and many other things. Also in July of 2001, the first accident occurred. My mother, being a little clumsy, backed right into the basketball hoop that was in our driveway. The rear quarter panel was dented in along with the bumper, demolished taillight, and the rear driver side door. As I grew up, I loved the Jeep, sadly I didn't get to grow up with it much. Due to the reliability issues, it was traded in to our local Ford dealership for a 2005 Ford Explorer, which lasted seven years. I loved that Jeep very much, and still do. It's he reason as to why I love Jeeps to this day. It's the reason why I bought my 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. But there's one things... I want it back. I want to buy this Jeep back and give it a good retirement (if it's in my area, odds are that it's been abused, most WJ's are thrashed and abused here). I know its just a base model WJ but it means so much more to me. I still have the original dealer invoice and all of the service records. I am trying to find it. I have the VIN but don't think I should post it in a forum so if anyone knows where there's a white 2000 Grand Cherokee in a 300 mile radius from New Jersey, just let me know Nevermind that, but if anyone has any idea on how I can find it, please let me know!

Go to CARFAX.com and type the VIN In and see If It's still on the road. Worst case It's someone's beater or In a junkyard and/or been crushed.

It doesn't matter If the guy next to you doesn't know your racing winning Is winning.

Haha Yes, maybe! Both that past Jeep and my current Jeep started their lives here in NJ. My February of 1999 Grand Cherokee was delivered to a dealership down in South Jersey, when it was new and the 2000 Grand Cherokee I mention started it's life at a dealer where I am in Central NJ

Damn, that's crazy. I have a very base model 99 Grand Cherokee (with exception of SelecTrac) and I could only imagine what my MSRP was. Good luck finding your Jeep. I'm in North Jersey, if you find it and it's in my area let me know, I'll check it out for you.

Is what I posted originally. With a little help from the internet, I was able to use a website called "Check My Ride" (don't worry I am not advertising for them). I simply put in my VIN number for it and was able to find the locations where it had been! It looks like my beloved Jeep has had maybe 4 or 5 owners since my parents and I. There is only one main problem though... it's not in my state anymore. It has since departed and started a new life in the state where, ironically, my parents and my grandparents beach houses are located (we vacation there twice or more a year) in South Carolina. South Carolina is such a lovely place and I am surprised that it ended up there. Now, I need the South Carolina Jeepers to help me out here. The Jeep is a white 2000 Laredo, base model, no added options. It's last reported location was in Summerville, South Carolina. If any of you own this Jeep or know the person who owns this Jeep, please PM me and then I may provide you with my personal email if I feel as though you are legit enough. Thanks everyone!

Nice job hunting it down!

I'm surprised to see you're 13, own a 1999 WJ, and are looking to buy a 2000 WJ. Don't you have a few more years before you can have a learner's permit?

Yes, I have three years until I can get my learner's permit, it'll be two years in March. I have always loved Jeeps and I managed to pick mine up for $760. It's a beauty and a good runner She has 255,000 on the odometer and the 4.7L V8 still runs like it was new. It was also a custom order from the dealership.

Some options include:
Up Country Suspension, V8, QuadraDrive, Premium Sound System, Sunroof, 10-Disc CD Changer and more!

Color: Bright Platinum Metallic with Driftwood Cladding. The interior is Taupe. The rims I believe are called Timberline.

MSRP - $34,475. Original owner bought it with only 10 miles on it.

Well done on finding it!

May I ask, what is the point in you owning 1, possibly two jeeps when you are over 2 years from being legally allowed to drive in your country? Or do you own a large amount of private land or something?

Just interested
