ok, so up to now, I've been just messing with stuff, modding things the way I like, etc. Last night I couldn't sleep, so I planned out everything I want to do to my rig, and something like a timeline for it. Keep in mind that I'm not made of money, so it might take me a loooonnnng time to get to Stage 4!

Stage 1 - Suspension / Basic
  • 3" IRO lift -- DONE
  • 31" KM2s -- DONE
  • JCR Stage 2 sliders -- DONE
  • JKS Quicker Disconnects -- DONE
  • CB (I have one, but I'm going to upgrade to the little "handheld" Cobra) -- DONE

Stage 2 - Audio/Nav/OBDii
  • Carputer (Windows or Linux?)
    • GPS -- DONE (DeLorme Earthmate, with software)
    • OBDii
    • AM/FM tuner -- DONE (New HU with Aux In)
    • multiple input/output sound card for software mixing of devices -- EDIT: Won't be necessary

Stage 3 - OBA/Storage
  • Gas tank lift -- EDIT: Won't do it
  • Dual batteries
  • OBA
  • Storage
    • Mount batteries
    • Tools/spares
    • air tank
    • camping mattress?
    • axe/shovel/hi-lift?

Stage 4 - Other
  • Steel front/rear bumpers -- REAR BUMPER DONE
  • winch
  • belly skid
  • FIPK -- DONE
  • performance chip
  • Flowmaster Super 44 exhaust
  • Selectable lockers
  • diff covers
  • 4" LA suspension?
  • 32"-33" KM2s?

I may never get to Stage 4, but we'll see. Lemme know if you see anything stupid here.....

EDIT -- Oh, couple design constraints. 1) My heep can't get more than about 1" taller than it is now, or it won't fit in my garage anymore. Hence the 4" LAs and 32s going on AFTER the steel bumpers and dual batteries, if they go on at all. 2) I don't do hack jobs. If I can't figure out how to get something done nicely, I won't do it until I can figure it out, or until someone else gives me a good idea of how to do it. 3) This is, and will continue to be, my DD. I don't see no fun in it if I can't drive it to work every day

1/2" below the drain hole? You mean run it lower than empty?

Sorry. Couldn't help myself...

Fine, drain PLUG. They're about halfway up the diff on the stock covers. is that better?

No.

How about "1/2" below FILL hole..."???

1/2" below drain PLUG is still running it below empty!

You're too high in the air to need sliders. I think they're really ballast to lower your center of gravity!

Well, I've already gotten rocker panel damage, so apparently not.....

It's just a 3" lift. Can't wait for tonight to install the sliders, though (OBVIOUSLY, the one shown will go on the OTHER side of the Jeep)!

Nice...

He isn't high enough in lift to avoid the stuff that we do! He got that on a mild trail too!

Chicks dig body damage.

Charging up the drill batteries. I figure we will try the impact gun today to get some of those bolts started. Obviously don't want to over tighten them though.

Will have to take some pictures today. Maybe call DJ out at the farm if we get things done before sunset? He might be up for a ride.

Just a tease; we've only got one slider on right now.

It was RIDICULOUSLY hard to install. Doing the other one tonight. Oh, another thing. Because I'm just SUCH a nerd (well actually, because a nerd convinced me to try playing with Twitter), my build now has a twitter feed.

NINJA EDIT: ducksguts, all of that sounds cool....

NINJA EDIT 2: Both sliders are in! Pics to come eventually...
