jeep grand cherokee 2002 crd heater problem

Hi there, any chance someone can help me, i have no heat in the cabin until
the engine temp gets up to 90-95 degrees, then when i do get heat it only lasts until the engine temp drops back done to 80 degrees. There is no blend door problem also i have replaced the thermasat twice as i thought the first one was faulty but there fine. If i remove the thermastat out of its housing and put it back together the cabin heater works perfect, but obviously i can't leave it like that because the engine temp is too low around 40 degrees. Any ideas ?

Maybe you're heatercore is dirty and not being efficient under normal conditions, but when you remove the thermostat the sheer volume of hot water passing through it heats things up well.

I've heard of people here disconnecting their heatercore hoses and running a garden hose through them in an attempt to pump any dirt/rust out of it

Hi there, I have just flushed the whole system out this morning but unfortunately it's not solved the problem. It's really doing my head in now, really thinking of taking the thermastat out and leaving it out.
