Its a WJ thing build thread

Well i have been on JF for over 2 years now and decided to start my own build thread. This is my 2nd WJ, my first one i totaled unfortunately last Xmass eve. I bought another WJ as soon as i could haha. Below is a list of all the mods i have done so far:

4in lift
cubby 4 switch plate
interior LED's
dual ram air intake
ZJ reservoir swap
4wd shifter swap
in-bumper LED reverse lights
cut front bumper

I think im missing a few things but if you have any questions or pic requests, just PM me.

Here's a few pic's of my WJ's then and now:

while doing my rear coil isolaters, I decided to paint my rims....well come to find out the front tires have major cupping on the inside of the tread and uneven wear :-/ AND my oil pan finally took a dump and really started leaking. luckily I have a new oil pan allready to go in next week and I have an extra set of 32s laying around that I was going to sell haha. I still have to do my front spring iso's too. lots to do this weekend and next week. heres how she sits with the painted rims...

So i found out that i needed to replace my passenger side wheel bearing before going on my wheeling trip yesterday...so getting right into the change, i also found out that my caliper wasnt properly releasing and i needed pads and rotors as well. After spending lots of money i didnt want to, my gf and friends left for whispering pines, just north of geneva ny. We hooked up with a couple jeep clubs there and had a pretty great time. i did meet a fellow wj member on jf and his badass 6.5 lifted wj with 35's. I didnt break anything...but bent my light bar mount 4inchs left when i clipped a tree turning around on a trail...owell haha. Oh and i lost a front sway bar bolt which made my 2hr drive home really interesting.

I have finally decided on what my next investments for my WJ are going to be and are as followed:

Spartan locker - Dana 44HD
rocker panel replacement w/ box steel
Hard-KOR tie rod
RC long arm upgrade
33in tires ( unsure if im going to get 15in rims or stay with the 16's and use wheel spacers )

After i get 33's, the next decision is whether or not to go up to 6in springs, which would be clayton springs

I got mine on ebay for $54. I can justify spending so much money on a legit one. it works pretty good though for the price.

well I havent updated this in awhile so here we go:
I recently killed the drag link ends in my WJ, replaced them and got her aligned

img_20141228_164103.jpg

my head unit (kenwood) went into protect mode which either means its shot or theres a wiring issue in one of the doors smh.

came out to a flat tire yesterday and had to put my mt's on and use them till I can get my bfg a/t's mounted

one of the seat bolts finally broke, smh

oh and my abs light keeps turning on and off...no codes, ugh

spent too much time on my day off yesterday replacing one track bar bolt and bushing. the body side was stripped real bad in tge fall and my har kor bushings were breaking apart. swapped in a new bolt and jks oem bushings. I found that I had play in my steering so out came the track bar again and I found another stripped bolt but on the axle side and the bushings were spinning in the loop end. so out came those bushings, but the problem is I couldnt get my hands on any "direct" replacement bushing. so I went online and found moog k80777 at advance auto. the bushing fit snugly into the loop end and the inner diameter is the perfect size to fit the bolt sleeve. the only issue was that the moogs were a little fatter so out came the tourch and knife so I could cut them to fit. all in all it ended up pretty good. btw a 13/16 bolt with 9/16 thread is impossible to find...

also diagnosed my head unit issue: I had a kenwood 255u which worked great but randomly went into protect mode. I nought a new head unit, kenwood kn 310 and it worked until yesterday. pulled both the hu fuse and fuse panel one for the radio, reset the hu and pulled the battery terminals but that didnt work. I pulled the driver door panel off to check for a short since I fixed my ground wire last week and found moisture on the speaker connections. I disconnected it and tried to power on the hu but that failed. I got home and started cutting off speakers off of the wire harness one by one until the hu got out of protection mode...ended up being the front left speaker....ugh

its from 4x4 fabworks I believe, im actually taking it off...its not as solid as I hoped. I bent the crap out of it on a trail without realizing sonce the mounting brackets are thin and it jiggles when you hit bumps and shakes my light bar and pods.
