The 4 prong plugs are effectively are single prong. As said electricity takes the path of least resistance so will jump to the nearest, squarest or best earthed electrode. As that one wears it will start to jump to the next best one and so on. Thats why they last so long. Not saying you should use them on your jeep, most use singles... just info!
