I need help!

I have a 2009 jeep grand cherokee 2x4 and the brake lights won't turn off I started it up to make sure that the battery wasn't dead and nowit won't turn off I had to disconnect a relay I order for it to turn off. What could be the problem?

I had a brake booster that had a broken pushrod that caused this problem in my ZJ. I'd take a look at the switch first though.

Just for clarification (maybe I'm just tired), are you saying that after you started the Jeep, you couldn't get the engine to turn off? Or am I mis-reading that and you're just talking about your brake lights?

If it's just the brakes, have you tried pulling back on the pedal a little bit? I've seen several cars have that problem from time to time.
