I thought you said you couldnt get them anymore because they quit making them? Thats why I went with a SCT.......... well that and one of the venders on thespeedfreaks had them on said for $275
I know it doesnt physically give your engine more numbers so to speak. Didn't mean for it to come across that way.

and you can still get mopar performance computers from the factory for 93-95s (or kolak), and you can get Kolak's reflashed version for the 96-98s

"K&N FIPK Gen II w/ AmsOil EaAU4090 Filter and EaPF21 Pre-Filter"

I found a cold air intake kit on Eb*y for my 97 Grand with a 5.2 for 49.95 + shipping. Came to about 78 bucks. Has the chrome tube, new cone filter and metal divider to keep engine heat at bay. After a week I have noticed an increase in power and got 17.9mpg compared to the 13-14 I was getting. I will eventually replace the no-name air filter with a k&n but it sure beats paying the $250+ that they want for the k&n kit.

Hell with K&N! There filters suck because they let too much dirt and dust past the filter and they dont flow as much as some newer filters on the market today. K&N were the bees knees so to speak back 10 + years ago but the advance in filter technology has left them behind. I put a K&N on my powerstroke against everyones warnings and less than a week later I had a chipped compressor wheel on my turbo. There housings are good but the filters need to go strait to the trash. I am also running a eBay CAI setup like the one your running. I have a hughes filter on the way for it. Hughes Engines

Now that I look at it the filter may be too long to fit in a ZJ. I will take some measurements to be sure.

The 1.7 ratio Harland Sharp roller rockers are the best bang for the buck. They'll easily net you 20hp.

The problem with a modification like that is that on an older Jeep with lots of miles it would be ill-advised to replace the rockers with a steeper ratio without replacing the valve springs. By the time you buy the rockers, springs, retainers, keepers, etc. he will be way over his $500.00 budget. There's labor involved too and if he's not capable of a job like this that's got to be factored in.

That's why I recommend the Mopar Performance PCM on his Jeep as an initial mod. It's well within his budget. Anyone can install it with no mechanical experience. And the results are substantial in terms of power gains. Also the top speed limiter is removed and torque converter lockup points are optimized. The optimized fuel and spark curves prepare the foundation for future modifications such as the rockers, headers, intake, etc.

There's no real link these days. Mopar's site doesn't list the PCM anymore though it is still available.

PM me if you'd like one - I sell these all the time.

If you re-read my post above (post number 81) in this thread, you'll see that I outlined what the PCM does.

It's not a "chip" either - it's a complete replacement computer.

Dude he said if you have $500 to spend you can get one of the Mopar PCMs and still have $200 left. That would bring one to assume it cost $300 but thats just my guess.

Either he isnt reading the posts or is just wanting to flap his gums. His questions have been answered several times but yet he keeps asking.
