huh, yeah those vents don't look legit. Good job even finding a 5.9 tho! I'd love to get one.

idk how those vents are being held on, but if you can take them off cut some holes in the hood underneath where they go and maybe look for a set of drip trays to protect the components underneath. but yeah man i'm stumped lol

I've never seen a 5.9 hood look like that. I wonder if the hood was replaced for some reason and the previous owner moved the 5.9 vents over without cutting holes in the hood.

2x that is not a 5.9 hood but every thing else that would be found on a 5.9 seams to be there. 12mpg. I only wish I had that.

thanks, milage is only 68,000 miles ; 5.9 v8 cant go wrong!

Heres a few pics, basically you should have a drip tray for the bottom (which I dont see) as and the top vent part should have nipples that poke through the hood through holes. From what I am seeing im sure it they nipples were cut off to mount it flush ?? More pics would be helpful. You can cut whatever size holes to let air escape, as you can see from my template. Hope this helps!

Best for the money. Wrapping fuel rails and lines, wrapping intake tube, iat relocate, ram or durango 5.2/5.9 airhat. Oil catch can on the pcv.

Best when actually spending real money, nitrous, supercharger, stroker...in that order. plus the supporting mods like exhaust, intake manifold, cam, cai, and heads.

I would think they would go closer to the middle of the hood, right over where alot of the heat is generated....

As far as your hood it was definitely replaced at one time. I would be willing to bet that it was wrecked they bought a crash parts hood and took the vents from the other hood and stuck them on with 2 way tape. If your jeep hit something hard enough to buckle the factory hood it would break the plastic mounts off the hood vents. Thus getting stuck on with tape or something else

under hood pics

so ,how far from the side would you say you come in and how far up?? , and you can cut a regular hood with out losing the integrity,? some measurements or under side pic with no vent trays would be great, so I know where to cut my holes, i want to do it and Id like to get it right, thanks for the info so far. forum rules.

V-8, Exhaust Manifolds left and right side of engine bay is where your heat is highest. my thoughts .
