I just measured it for you. the outer part comes out about 3.5-4" from the big main part and the entire thing sticks out 7.5" from the pinch seam. and the angle is acutally fine for stepping up to the roof rack but Idk about getting in!

Hope that helps!!

I know Kevins Offroad has some that I think extened an extra two inches. You could look into those.

Thanks and no problem.

I can understand needing something to step up on to get to the roof rack, but why would anyone need a step to get into the Jeep? Is it that high off the ground? Maybe I'm just too tall for my own good.

Yes, it snows in Texas.

Im 5' 11" and it's not that hard for me to get in, but whenever my mom decides she wants to ride along she has to hop up a little. No need for steps though I dont guess. I imagine for kids its rather usefull if its lifted up.

Yeah the way I get into my jeep makes it a little harder. I swing my right leg in so my left leg has to get kinda close to the jeep. Its not big deal just gotta get used to it. And it gets your pants dirty some. Oh well. Small price to pay for big protection.
