So from the looks of it, it's two beams welded onto the hitch that then have a cross bar welded on to them that has the pin and latch assembly. That's smart.

Liked the look of your rig and voted for yours in ROTM. I am loving the rear carrier as well. I have seen the other fellow's build thread of how he did it, I wish you could pull your cover off sometime to show how it all looks and then how the cover slides over. I'm guessing you got rid of the stupid Styrofoam piece. Also, is the full length of 2x4 really needed or would something lighter duty serve this purpose since your tying into the hitch assembly. If you wanted I'm guessing you have enough room to mount a Jerry Can beside your spare on the bar and then put your plate on the Jerry can?

did you have to cut as much of the bumper sheet metal as the first fellow?

Yeah, I cut out about as much of the stock rear crossmember. You've got to cut it out so that everything sits far enough back for the facia to be re-installed. I think the 4x2 is mandatory as it really stiffens the thing up. I had a few more pics, but my phone crashed and I lost a lot of them. I should have taken a lot more, but with so many hours into the project pics were my last concern.

I plan on eventually making some removable jerry can holders for expedition trips, but I prefer the license plate in the center, and don't want cans mounted up all the time.

I really like everything you have done to your jeep...Its very clean! I have been dreaming about that same tire carrier set up for a while now and would love to have one. I think someone should start producing something very similar. More pics...

I broke off one of my fog light connectors just backing out of my driveway, so I figured it was time for some more trimming. I'm real close to just trimming as much as I can out of the front/rear fenders.

Poser shot.

I ended up doing the same thing to my fog light wiring...haha.

I had the rectangle fog lights, so my bumper was a little different. My cut was pretty similar to yours though. I ran it like that for a year until I had the cash saved for an Iceland bumper.

I love the look of your wheels. I have my set sitting in the basement. I need to get them on and see how they look against the white Jeep.

I love the look of the wheels too, although I'm thinking about painting them graphite like my last set of wheels.

I'm heading down to Tuttle Creek, KS tomorrow for a little shake down run, then all work on the Jeep is going to be focused on preparing for Easter Jeep Safari. Condo booked!

Great turnout for wheeling today, including this new WK2 Overland.

I lost a coil spring on an obstacle, broke off a mud flap, tweaked the bottom of my front bumper, and added some "custom" pin striping, but it was a great trip. I put the machine through it's paces and it performed great. The rest of the group was shocked to see a modded WJ, and someone who wasn't afraid to use it. I'll try to get some actual wheeling pics up later when I get them.

Tucks nicely.

I'll definitely be fabbing a front bumper and some coil spring retainers before Easter Jeep Safari.
