Those look very clean. I ordered Iceland sliders because I didn't like the look of any other ones I could find online, but yours sure look sweet. And it doesn't look like you lost any ground clearance, great job. Post pics that show how you mounted it to the unibody, and if you tied into the pinch seam at all.

There's eight bolts into the frame on each side, and seven bolts into each pinch seam. They're pretty solid. I've only got this crappy pic of the mounts for now, but it gives you a general idea. 3/16" plate bolted to the uni-frame, and 1/4" bolted to the pinch seam.

From your earlier pics, that was my guess. I really like your setup, good design and clean look.

Thanks! I didn't want to lose any clearance, didn't want anything too big, and I really didn't want a bunch of bolts showing across the pinch seam. It worked out perfectly because all the bolts are hidden behind the rail, and they blend right into the body. The beauty of building your own stuff!

I dont know if I looked past it, but what is that headunit you have? EDIT: RB1, found it.

I want to find a used one and make the same setup you have. I just bought an 03 WJ, and hate the factory unit.

I've got the factory RB1 Navigation head unit.

Do you know if it would be a direct swap with my unit? I have either the RB? or RAZ unit.

It should be a direct swap. I believe the only addition is a GPS antenna that I think mounts under the dash above the steering wheel.

I like that it has a factory look, but its looking like they are pretty pricey. May just go with an aftermarket unit that has a simple look and functions.

Hey man, just noticed your build thread.. im really liking your rear tire carrier. You probably dont have any pictures of it when you were making it, but how did you tie it in to make it strong? Id either want to do that, or just get a bumper made but this would be a lot more practical for me. Thanks dude, keep on jeeping, looks like you know what your doing

I literally followed this guys idea, and modified it slightly. It mounts the same way though. Welded to the hitch. It's stout, I can jump on it, and I weigh 200lbs.

Today I replaced my windshield washer fluid reservoir with one from a 1998 5.9 LTD ZJ.

My evap cannister is behind my rear bumper, so I planned on putting the reservoir here. There's just barely enough room for it with a slight relocation of the vaccum stuff that's bolted up there.

Here's the comparison between the WJ and ZJ reservoirs.

I had to clearance the ZJ reservoir a little for the hood strut.

Then I fabbed up a relocation bracket for the vaccum stuff out of some 1/8" thick flat stock.

It bolted up perfect.

All done! I think it turned out pretty good.

Very nice. Exactly what I am planning on doing. I have a question for you...

Does the tank touch the brake lines where they turn down from the master cylinder? If they do, do you think it matters?

When I test fit mine they did press against the tank. I was thinking about heating the plastic and making a small indention where the lines are so they don't touch.

Thanks.
