Le'Crack! Last time I did this trail, 2 years ago, I ripped apart a Teraflex LCA and had to get it welded (Thankfully Tom Woods was there to rescue me with his OBW (On Board Welder)). I also had to run the trail with my sway bar connected because my shocks were too long (err, I didn't have limiting straps) and thus I kept popping springs.

When we got back onto sand near Gemini Bridges I noticed my steering wheel was 1/4 turn off. On the drive back to the hotel my steering was super loose. Turns out I bent the drag link end from the drag link to the pitman arm. Had a replacement on hand so swapped it out over a nice cold beer

Fluid was shiny (moderate metal shavings), but when I cracked the case and pulled the magnet out, it was pretty clean So I talked to Tom Woods and he suggested since it happens on long trips, to check the vent tube and make sure it isn't clogged...which would cause a pressure build up and cause it to leak out a seal. While on the phone I asked for the rear seal part number which he got me...then I ordered some u-joints since a couple of mine are dry and a little sloppy. He threw in a rear seal for me for free

It was very nice talking to him instead of a know-nothing salesmen. When I wanted to order u-joints, he asked why and then advised me to replace u-joints only if I know them to be bad because each time you do it, you loosen up the tolerances on the cap retainers on the yoke. He didn't want to sell me anything, he wanted to make sure I fixed only what was broken.

For the most part, he is more expensive than other shops like Carolina Driveline (which I have also bought stuff from), but he is knowledgeable when you talk to him. He is the Kolak of drivelines IMHO.

Bridget was convinced that she did that and it was her fault...you convince her otherwise?

Absolutely - she had nothing to do with it. This was years of wailing on it, and it finally decided to rip on Saturday.

Good to know and glad you got it worked out.

You could just swap in a 231 with a 4 low kit.

Already spent money on this t-case so I want to keep it going for a little bit longer - plus full-time mode rocks with an aussie in the rear

Awesome, thanks Kanin.

And Ryan, you can't even see all the bugs on the front of my jeep.
