Hahaha don't misinterpret my tone. I understand that things come up, and it's disappointing but it's nothing to be mad or feel bad about. It's only wheeling, family should come first. There's always next time. I'm gonna open this invite up to everyone I know with a jeep now though, and hopefully our trail group won't just be a bad *** buggy and a mildly built zj. Tell yo' friends!

No I understand, my friend in his stock 2011 JKUR is coming with me on Sunday. So we will be hitting mild trails, if you do decide to go for a few hours Sunday. He baby's that thing, and I need to learn how to even drive mine offroad. Fail.

We'll see how the ZJ holds up on Saturday. I have a feeling if it's just me and MGD, I'm gonna get talked into a lot of stupid things. The ZJ has got to survive the 3 hour trip home as well as the wheeling, ya know?

Wouldn't it be nice to have a badass tow rig?

Yea, but that's half the fun. I love being able to take her out in the woods, abuse the crap out of her, and she still gets the groceries on the way home. It may not be expeditionary wheeling, but it has a similar appeal to me.

I travel prepared as well

Along with a spare rear axle shaft, spare ball joints, spare u-joints for axle and drive shaft, spare hub assembly, spare c-clips and cross pin, etc.

Like Dean said, family comes first, and there is no shame in having priorities. IMO, December is hard time to get alot of involvement, you have family functions, the expense of Xmas, company parties, etc. I had alot of people that wanted to go, just too much going on or couldn't afford the expense this month.
Unfortunately, our main focus for this run was to hash out details for GST, but we are going to be without several of the key people there.
At this point, would it be better to reschedule ? So far, it looks like all that will get accomplished is a day of wheeling.

Someone mentioned April for a re-try. I'm down with that. I'm going next weekend regardless; I need to get away. I understand the holiday thing, just kind of took it for granted when I suggested this weekend. I live far from my family and rarely do anything for the holidays, so it wasn't on my mind at the time. Shame on me. I just wanted some cool weather for my ZJ that likes to overheat on the trails. And what's wrong with only accomplishing a day of wheeling?

Sounds like a good plan with a another date. I had no idea so much would come up either.
Plus the extra time will allow me to get the jeep ready for the 6hr drive. (come on tax return)
So I guess the few that will be making it the 15th can be our trail scouts be sure to take lots of pictures and videos to report what its like

Well, my ZJ is put back together, unfortunately my finger is not now, & depending on the swelling, I'm having surgery tomorrow or Tues to put it back together. If enough people are going to show up and you need someone that knows their way around the park, I could drive my rig down. I think trailering it down is out of the question now, too much to try and do one handed.

What'd you do to the finger? Feed the ZJ?

I have to be at work on Monday so no sunday wheeling for me. Its cool that y'all have other stuff coming up and wont be able to make it. That just means that trails will go faster.

Haha, I'm not gonna be able to keep up. I'm in the process of inviting everyone else I can think of. They will probably be closer to stock than my own though, so I donno if you'll have anyone to do the 4s and 5s with ya.
