I will definitely take a lot of pictures and throw a thread up. It will be a modification of the rough country long arm so that should be cool. I will triangulate the rear, maybe double. And the rear control arm bracket on the frame from rough country sucks, so I will ditch that for a custom setup.

There is a good chance that i will have an open seat in my rig thru all of the hard parts. The girlfriend gets scared easily and gets out when i get to the fun stuff.

I will never leave a jeep, and its no mall crawler. so yes it will be at HF, and pushed hard

Not sure if I'm gonna make it, finished up putting in my new 8.8. I'm out of adjustment on my control arms, so my driveshaft is too long now. If I can get the billet pinion yoke from ECGS in time it will shorten it about an inch, but the u-joint @ the TC is in a bind @ full extension. Doubt I can get a double cardan shaft here in time.
Pic is @ ride height.

Go to jy and get a front drive shaft off of a xj and have it cut down. Its way cheaper that building a new driveshaft.

Yeah, I really don't want to build one now and have to get another when I do the Rubi T-case and longarm upgrade. $60 for a yoke or local shop to cut mine down, but that doesn't fix the bind at the top joint. A front driveshaft won't hold up in the rear, tube is to small, especially behind a V8.

Ive got a front driveshaft in the rear of my buggy with 5.13's 40" rubber and stupid low gears. Its held up so far even with my doing 3rd gear assault at full throodle. The xj has a 2" tube even with your 318 33's and 4.56 gears i still think that it will be sufficient and hold up.
The hp and tq differences between the 5.2 v8 and the 4.0 I6 isnt that huge. Take into consideration the gear reduction I'm running. I see no reason why it would hold up in the zj even with a rubi case.

The Rubi T-case isn't in there yet, so no SYE, I'm still running a slip yoke. I can get one with a slip yoke, double cardan & the right length, just not in time. Really don't want to buy one now and have to pay for another in a few months when I do that swap. I could put the rear sway bar back in, it would take about 2 inches of travel out.

Gonna go look for an XJ rear shaft tomorrow, need about 1 1/2" shorter, then adding a YJ slip yoke to fix my binding issue.
