Good battery, good starter, right oil it should fire right up. Turn key on and off three times to pressurize fuel system and minimize crank time. Block heaters are the best insurance for good starts in cold weather. Plus they give you instant heat from the heater.

It's silly how wind chill is interpreted by most people. Really, its fake. It doesnt exist. It feels colder but its not. At all. lol.

OP: I agree with the block heater.

Anyone ever used those heated dipsticks? Do they work? Ive just seen 'em in stores

It's supposed to be -20 tomorrow morning here (actual temp not wind chill). 5* is nothing.

Wow I didn't realize how many people get insulted by the mention of wind chill. I know the wind chill affects only humans; I interpreted OverlandZJ's comment merely as trying to save face after we had complained about 5 degree weather and then the real men came in and talked about trying to start their Jeeps in absolute zero conditions (I kid!).

It is even going to get cold down here in Alabama. 14 degrees tonight and 4 degrees tomorrow night.

I do not worry about my Jeep starting, but moisture has frozen in my door locks before and I could not unlock it(no remote door locks). I would think that would be more of a problem down here because it often starts with rain in the evening and the temperature drops overnight. Right now, it is 53 degrees outside and raining...

I usually spray WD-40 into my lock in the evening, but I ran out this morning.

I'd recommend buying vodka and whiskey.

Nope, near Philadelphia. Is that a normal prediction for Atlanta? Seems a little low...

An other tip from the far north. Don't drink the jack and beam when its subzero. If its out side with you it will be liquid but will be the same temp as outside. (-20 also). When you drink it it will freeze your mouth. Think when you are out there and its subzero. It is up to you.

Battery maintainer, or a set of jumps and another vehicle nearby just in case.
