Finished repainting the rock rails. Drilled and tapped them to mount back up. All back on now. Should hold up for another 5 years or so I hope.

Picked up a 16k tube/pipe bender from Harbor Freight and some 1 1/2 tubing to build onto my rock rails. Also got some parts in the mail to start my snorkel.

That's a pipe bender. It will bend tube,but the results won't be near as good as an actual tube bender since pipe is measured by ID and tube is measured by OD.

For 90 bucks I'll give it a try. Yeah its a tube bender but should work for the small bends I wanna make for the sliders. Not expecting the same as a high end one but didnt feel like spending 600+ on one. At the worst I can bend my own exhaust tubing or take it back and get my money back if I'm not happy with it. Win, win.

Looks good. I'll give this a try. If I'm not happy I'll return it and look for another. Just didnt wanna pay 300 for a bender and another 150 for each die set. I looked on you tube and some had hood luck with it. I post up pics when I do a bend and post it. Its all trial and error for now. Thanks for the input.

Thanks. Yeah I figure it will be easier to remember them if I keep them all in one thread. Lots of mods coming up. Finish rear fender trim, tank tuck, extensions on the rock rails and snorkel coming up first.

not bad...the Eastwood for $430 is good....since it comes with additional dies...bad thing...no 90 degree bends...

Think I'm going with a JD2 bender and a 1.5 die. Will check my scrap yard tomorrow to see what size they have. I'm pretty sure they have 1.5 in various lengths.

Got my JD2 model 3 bender. Made a stand for it. They wanted 135 + shipping but built mine for 15. Also picked up a 8 ton air ram for 45 that I'm gunna mount to it tomorrow.

The scrap metal place here has good deals on scrap so i got two 10' 1 1/2 thick wall DOM tube for 25 bucks. Gunna make extensions for the sliders to start with.

Well finally got back to working on the Jeep. Worked on ZJ washer bottle, coolant bottle relocation and snorkel. Ill clean all the wiring up later.

I took out the old air box and put a ZJ washer bottle in and moved the coolant bottle in its place. Swapped out the washer pumps and low level float. Also had to run the coolant sensor wiring around to the new location. The coolant bottle almost bolted right in but, had to make a couple brackets for the washer bottle.











The snorkel is all junk yard parts except for two poly elbows. I used a 9? 4.0 Ranger air box. Cut the back half off to shorten it down. Used a whole 3" hole saw to cut through everything. The only thing I have left to do is make the pipe to go up the windshield. Will work on that tomorrow. Also need to put a nipple in for the CCV. Used some vacuum hose to finish off the hole in the fender. The only thing is the air box goes over the dip sticks but, thats not really a problem. Only takes a sec to move the air boxe to check the levels.
